We will need to come up with better solution for signature images... host on our site, dimension limits, etc

Okay, so I finally am able to check out the site on my laptop. It's much more usable on my laptop than on my phone.

So now I'm wondering, what doesn't it look the same on my phone as it does on my laptop? It did with the old site.

I know a lot of people like a mobile version of websites, but I've never liked them.

correct, this software provides a different view depending on device and resolution. For example desktop users that don't like the right frame can narrow window just a little to get all that to pop down to bottom. there are options on your phone to view desktop versions of sites. not sure yet if you can select desktop versions from the actual site. old FerrariChat only had one view because it was before phones invented. ;)

looking at code on my end, if make your browser window less than 1170px wide then the side bar will be put at bottom.

page width of 1170 is odd for desk top, 2000 looks better.. to me anyway.

< 1170px is if you want side bar gone, anything over (which is many if not most) will have side bar.

I know these are all design quibble issues. The wider page view reduces apparent the padding between posts. Helps streamline the view on desktops, to me at least. With the large screen formats that most of us use the large tracks of land on either side is horrible. The side bar is is very tolerable to massive padding.

I'll have to look at options and see if there is a desktop version or not.

But I wanted to at least give my input that it's much friendlier on a computer, and all of my "complaints" were based on mobile.

    Interesting. Thanks.

Not sure if it was mentioned in the Bugs thread, but what about multi-quoting? I guess we now just hit reply however many times as I did for this post.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Just suggestions about initial impressions:
I agree with another comment that I saw that the font is somewhat on the gray side. Total black would be much easier to read.

There is too much white space now. Can each entry be scrunched vertically? Then more entries would could fit on a page and less scrolling would be required to go down the messages.

    Regards,
    -Jim

When I post a picture from my pc, it doesn't show up in the post as an embedded picture but rather as a link. I don't want to click on links to see a picture. Can this be changed?

Maybe you need to get rid of sig lines. They break up the page way too intrusively. I'm deleting mine for this reason.

I was more referring to Jack's post than yours. Your post, aside from the sensitivity/kid quips, was fine. Jack's response to me was dismissive. That's what I was annoyed about.

I found what I did wrong. I'm in the old view but I didn't see the options for thumbnail or full view when uploading the picture. so I'm good now :)

is it just me or did the layout change? seems to have widened out and the side bars drop to the bottom. I dragged the desktop window to half screen and then when going back to full screen it kept the side bars at the bottom and widened the page.

I think the User Control panel on the old site was better than the new "watched threads" and "watched forums" now being separate pages.

I addressed this in the running bug list thread. New software does not support that.
