Andy, I really like the light fixture support cage. Sort of reminds me of stage light rigging. Cutom or something you found fabricated and had modified to fit?

    Thank you, PAP 348.

Cavallino, the open “trellis” system, called “Structura,” is by the Italian company Targetti. It is useful in a garage because one can relocate lights easily and snake air lines, cables, etc., through the structure, keeping them off the floor. It is modular and the ends have screw-in extensions, so they can fit just about any location. Structura fell out of fashion and was discontinued some time back

We installed the Structura system in our old garage 15 or so years ago. We removed it when we moved houses, adapting what we had to the new workshop and garage. The local distributor had some pieces in their warehouse, so this year we were able to extend the system to the new sections of the garage.

The working area at the far end has a related system, called “Structurella,” which uses a smaller trellis whose metal structure carries low-voltage current to the halogen lights, so no need for wires. Structurella is shallower and less useful than Structura, but I wanted to preserve ceiling height. I was thinking of installing a Danmar low-height 2-post lift.

The place looks better in the photo than in real life.

I should add that someone with soldering or brazing skills should be able to replicate the Structura trellis system quite easily and inexpensively. The main tubes are light-weight steel tubing and the diagonal braces thin solid round bars. The design is a standard one, not unique to the manufacturer, that I think should not be covered by patent.

Rigs for photo or sound studios and stages could also be adopted easily.

The sections are very simular to what is called Rohn Tower.

It comes in 10 foot lengths and various face widths. It's originally designed to be used vertically to support antennas, but is also used for light weight staging, holding lighting and curtains.

    Handy stuff!

For some reason I think I'd still rather have the SL at the end of the row though, though I could sell a Veyron for a few SL's

Your garage never ceases to amaze me Jas! :D

Are you going to have to raise the garage door opener rails to fit the lifts?

Nice little tractor in the 2nd pictures bottom right :D
