Great cars. I spent a couple of hours behind the wheel of one today. An enjoyable car to drive. Does nothing great, but does everything well. Happy to cruise at 70mph all day long. Great road trip car. Part are cheap and available everywhere and the drivetrain is bulletproof.
Its funny many many years ago I worked for a Honda dealership and one of these was in the bodyshop ( dealership partners car). I never knew actually how valuable this thing was, in fact, after the bodyshop was finished painting it, they replaced the factory knock offs with over the counter units. Well as soon as I found out they threw out the factory rims I went dumpster diving and took it all home. Unfortunately all I have left are the original knock offs and wheel adapters. My mom and dad threw out my rims for them in the trash, now I'm kicking myself, they could have been worth something or at least saved from the landfill. It was a pretty neat car, have no idea what ever happened to it, the owner has long since passed.
Love these cars too.. I just picked one up out here in LA for $40k.. Its been sitting a while so it needs waking up.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Seeing these cars makes me want to get one, move to Palm Springs to a mid-century modern house, and chase the ghosts of the Rat Pack around.
After 12 plus months at the shop going through just about everything, my cost base has shot through the hardtop.. But who cares right? Its so much fun!!! I have been driving it everyday.. The wife now wants to drive it...Oh no!!!! AC works great, and I love the "pinky" power steering.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Mike: What is the chassis number of the car? I have 4036 and am starting to work on a Registry. Nothing has been done for about the last 10 years.
Prototype: Jim's book is a great effort. There are some errors (as is normal with this kind of research), but it is the first real history of the cars and he is to be commended for his work.
Yup agreed.....the most information I've seen on the cars. Beautiful and very useable cars, we've taken ours on a few rallies and plenty of local drives.
