It'll come along eventually...maybe ten years from now? But in all seriousness, the game is under full development. Mr. Yamauchi explained this via Twitter when asked about the lack of updates for GT5. In other news, two promising details have trickled out regarding things that may be in the game. A few weeks ago, a team of Sony/Polyphony engineers were spotted at a tuning shop south of LA, capturing exhaust notes for the Hyundai Veloster and Genesis Coupe. Taku Imasaki, US Gran Turismo producer, was rumored to have been there with the team. Meanwhile, across the pond, people have reported seeing another team of engineers from Sony or Polyphony scan, photograph, and collect data from the famous Silverstone Circuit over several visits. They were also seen driving a Nissan truck (how surprising...) around the Stowe Circuit, a smaller circuit contained inside Silverstone. This truck had special photography equipment. For now, it looks like this will be a news and speculation thread. The wait is on.
There was an update two days ago & 3 more cars added to DLC last night. GT5 will be around for awhile, there is too large of a fan base to decline it. I'm not expecting GT6 to be out until Sony announces something out PS4 system. Yamauchi has given hints in the past of what he expects GT6 to be capable of & that's going to take resigned game system & new OS which might be still a couple years away.
What Kaz said was said in early August (sorry for not noting that). Over the summer, there were no updates to the game, and one small batch of DLC containing a track (with four configurations) and a car. The 2mb 2.07 update was released on June 1st, and 2.08 was released almost 4 months later. But, I agree with you about them not going to decline 5. We still get seasonal events every week. We may get some DLC (even if it is another Skyline or two, or ten). Lots of people still play it, and it'd be wrong to just cut off updates and seasonal events and whatnot for good.
I think GT5 is a massive jump from 4 but does not compare to the 1,2,3 of there day... Given the time they took I feel it still falls well short of what we should have got........And the 3D is pretty much unusable.....
I have to agree... Honestly as it stands I can't see myself giving Polyphony money for GT6 when GT5 was so terrible compared to the previous games. Not to mention the absolutely ridiculous number of GTR is insulting.
Time to bring this back up from the dead. GT6 will be released a month from today, on December 6th. Earlier this week, the official car list was revealed. You can see that here. Gran Turismo 6 - List of featured cars In terms of Prancing Horses, we will be getting quite a few new Horses to play with: Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta passo corto CN.2521 ’61 Ferrari 250 GTO CN.3729GT ’62 Ferrari 365 GTB4 ’71 Ferrari Dino 246 GT ’71 Ferrari FXX ’07 Ferrari GTO ’84 The Ferrari lineup from GT5 (with the exception of the F1 cars) will be returning. Other notable additions: Abarth 500 ’09 Aston Martin One-77 ’11 Audi R18 TDI (Audi Sport Team Joest) ’11 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe ’11 Chevrolet Corvette StingRay Racer Concept ’59 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 ’67 Chevrolet Nova SS ’70 Ford Mustang Boss 302 ’13 Jaguar XKR-S ’11 Lamborghini Diablo GT ’00 Lamborghini Diablo GT2 ’98 Lamborghini Reventon ’08 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Coupe Dynamic ’13 McLaren F1 GTR – BMW (Kokusai Kaihatsu UK Racing) ’95 McLaren F1 GTR Race Car Base Model ’95 Plymouth AAR Cuda 340 Six Barrel ’70 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am ’78 SRT Charger SRT8 ’11 Subaru BRZ GT300 Base Model ’12 Lunar Roving Vehicle LEV-001 ’71 However, it should be kept in mind that Polyphony noted that this list is one part of the cars planned for inclusion, and is subject to change. For example, earlier this year Mercedes themselves said the new A45 and E63 AMG models would be in the game, however they are not listed in this list.
Meh, I'll most likely get it for the PS3, does anyone have an idea what the complete track list will consist of? I know it's going to have some new tracks but I'm a fan of the courses that made this game what it is.
GT6 screen shots of the track list so far & the cars that matter to most of us, expect more DLC courses & vehicles later on. I went ahead & preordered my copy of GT6, so far I've been the only one to do so at my local Gamestop. Anyone else?
I think you mean this, way too limited. Only works with one car, the japanese market, & tracks within the game. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9k1oKfgGZ8]Gran Turismo 6 GPS Data Visualizer at Streets of Willow Springs - YouTube[/ame]
No, not the Data Visualizer at all; much more exciting Gran Turismo 6 Course Maker: Create Your Own Tracks with Mobile Apps? GPS Data
I think Kazunori Yamauchi lost a bet, not even sure why they put it in the game in the first place? I can see it now. 24 Hours Nürburgring with the Lunar Rover or driving on the moon with a Red Bull X2014, brilliant!
That listing did not include the GT5 cars. EDIT: Never mind, the post stated that the F1 cars will not be included in the game.
I hate to say it, but I have to formally request that you do NOT buy GT6 that was released today. Based on some news that was only released this morning, Sony has lost it's way with the francise. They have now added the ability to handle "micro-transactions" to the game. Effectively, what this means, is that on top of the $60 that would be spent to buy the game, it is now possible to spend additional $$$ to buy in-game credits. Therefore, anyone that doesn't want to bother playing the game can just drop ****-loads of cash and buy any car they so desire right from the start. The implications of this really don't sit well with me. Of course, if you feel that the presence of these microtransactions isn't a problem, then go ahead, I just wanted to ask that you no longer support a company that chooses to build these money grabbing schemes into their games. I won't be buying it.
