Cheny, Where are you picture?
Great event - really good variety, each week. A lot of really nice people. Not every day I get to park next to a 275GTB, which is right next to a Bora. Trying not to duplicate pictures - here's some I took. I liked the look of the Maranello's exhaust, immediately after it was shut off. --Bob Collum Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is the closest we have to Crystal Cove on this coast, a great gathering of pre 1970 european cars with a bunch of guys who wrench on their own cars! <M
I'm sorry for the duplication of photos, but I was really taken with this Modified 1955 Austin Healey 100 BN-4. Such a simple and beautiful looking car! The 427 just looks so menacing even standing still! Same goes for the 1972 DeTomaso Pantera. But my favorite has to be the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona. It was a pleasure meeting Keith (the owner)!! He said that his Father ordered that car NEW from Luigi Chinetti. This car has definitely been driven and then some! He used to track the car at Summit Point and at Moroso (now PBIR). Absolutely stunning car!! Bill P. That was an awesome turnout. I love the cars, especially the Daytona. It is a nice warmup for the day at the shop.
No apologies necessary, Bill -- they're great photos and the Healey BN-4 is a wonderful choice of car to be smitten by! (Says someone who is equally taken by it)
Great gathering again in spite of a grim night before weather forcast. Queen of the morning was a 1959 Imperial that was amazing!!
Here's the Chrysler. That car is BIG!! The front seats swivel - very cool. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
WOW what an amazing group of cars all in one place. AND 2 count them 2 kaiser darrin Where do u ever see 2. thanks for the snaps.
That Imperial reminds me of our old '59 Chrysler Windsor. It also had swiveling seats. My dad sold it in '73 because it used too much gas. I was 13 and even then I knew that it was a terrible decision. We also had a '59 Rambler. It's gone too. If only, if only...
Bill P -- too bad you didn't post a pic of the FOR SALE notice on the Pantera. I'd actually consider unloading the TR or 360 for a Pantera that looks like that (Blashephemous? Yes Nomex flame suit on? Yes!) Great pics not seen in My Life.
'Officially', it runs from 7AM to 9AM. A few always stay after 9, but it's amazing how most of the people evaporate by 9AM. --Bob Collum
i met a guy named chuck there seveal weeks ago. he seemed interested in doing work on the daytona. anyone know his shop name or number? he didn't have a card on him. keith
That would be Chuck Wray of DEW motors. He has a lovely white Daytona. He and his crew have been repairing Ferraris and high end exotics for decades. They have some of the finest Ferraris on the planet in their care. You would be hard pressed to find a better establishment for the care and feeding of your Daytona. I'll pm you his contact info. Below you will find just a few of the cars he cares for or has fully restored. A few photos are from the old shop. The new place in Reston is spectacular. regards ken Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
So early, can't even wash the car before coming out. Was hoping to make it tomorrow, but the car is dirty.
What a turnout! Everything from Mustangs to Diablos. Beautiful cars..nice people. I brought my '86 911 and it was a pleasure meeting everybody. I snapped a few pictures and will post them a bit later. Have a great weekend. -Ray
