Agreed. Based on my 458S, I would say almost identical save for the clips. If it is a 458 based car with a V12, then well done the owner. Some machine. Colour looks per his XX. Look forward to seeing the finished article.
Ok. My guess. This is a mule used to test the LaF V12. It looks like a 458 and Greg had them finish it out for him.
A man after my own heart, plonking a v12 Ferrari engine where a V8 is meant to go, I imagine his build budget had a few more zeros on the end though!
This got me thinking. I remember that Ferrari sold one of the 348-based Enzo mules to someone. Would anyone know who they first sold it to?
I was born '89. I think you need to have a lot of luck. The right idea at the right time and you will swim in money
Ok I think Ferrari realized sp in fonction of country But v12 on 458 it's very unique y can't wait to see this black monster
That was a great piece of Ferrari's history. Last time it was for sale back in 2014 and the asking price was 195,000. Amazing Ferrari Enzo prototype for sale | Top Gear
I think this is one of the LaF mules Ferrari was rumoured to be offering for sale earlier this year, in a so-called "cleaned up" state. Rumors included that the car(s) cannot be road registered. I believe the majority of the mules have been crushed, referencing a picture Marcel posted of a big group of mules sitting in a lot some time ago awaiting transport. Perhaps this is a powertrain mule, the classic example of using another model's bodyshell to camoufladge and test a new powertrain or drive unit. Not the wacky taped up frankenstein-esque mules used for developing the aero and car at a later stage, my couch expert intuition tells me none of those would be made available for sale. If a mule is the case here, I do wonder what sort of agreement is made with regard to the car and its "IP" status. Is the car presented wth a standard interior resembling say a production 458/488 perhaps LaF, or is it left as is but with the additional sensors and data acqusition tooling removed. I still struggle to see how you would fully road legalize a mule, as I doubt its delivered with homololagtion/CoC paperwork. I for one will eagerly wait and attempt to hold back any further speculation until more pictures and details are out, congratulations are in order to Greg for yet another fascinating addition to an already staggering fleet of cars.
Which part confused you? You stated that the LF chassis is somehow based on that of the 458, which is totally wrong.
