Any word on how the F-chatters in Houston are doing? Wondering if FoH suffered any damage and/or flooding? Keeping everyone there in my prayers. I was at ground zero for Katrina and know what it's like.
Jason (Texas355F1) reports his neighborhood isn't flooded, just hunkered-down. Guess he still has electricity as of last night.
Al, the wife, received a text from the FoH GM yesterday PM saying that there was no water in the dealership as of last night. They are planning to go to dealership today to check situation. Steve
Checking in, my family is fine, same with the house and I've jacked all the cars high too. Its been traumatic and saddening for all of us.
Thanks Kevin. Still good in cypress. Myself and Kurt (Nurburgringer) lives in Fairfield about 5 minutes from me are good. Somehow despite over 32" of rain, we've been okay. Thats awful Jerry where are you located? I have some family that have water in their homes. And friends that have been close to having water in their homes. My friends are stuck in Seattle but thankfully a friend lives there and has taken them in. I've attached some photos to give you an idea of what it's like across Houston. If you could donate clothing and funds to causes that would greatly benefit the victims. I know from watching the news soon much, most of them have nothing but wet clothes. I know I'll be clearing out my closet and drawers to help out.
I'm in Friendswood. The photo of the flooded California is in Friendswood, right next to my neighborhood. I know who owns that car. Very sad.
We are right near the Johnson Space Center. Our bayou is very full, but so far our community is dry. Houston is a real mess. The news said this is a once in 800 years event. The meteorologist on the Fox affiliate said their weather computer had to be reprogrammed because it couldn't cope with what it was seeing. I saw an article on NPR that said the National Weather Service had to add new colors to their rainfall illustration software because they'd never seen this much. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
I'll try to find that out. I think a lot of the donation destinations haven't been figured out yet other than donating cash due to all the flooding. Although the cash will be helpful, clothing I think is going to be much needed.
Terrible Jerry. Has the water gone down at all? How much is in your home? Was the California owner trying to get it to higher ground?
Is there anyway to get into the city? 45 & 290 are blocked but I think I-10 is open, my half sister & her kids lives north of Bingle & I-10. Not sure about gas & supplies once I'm down there.
Not sure man. Areas off of i10 and barker cypress are underwater. Not sure about what other areas are affected. I would try to wait another day.
No water in my home. A small amount in the garage. No damage that I can see. Water still very high as I type. As for the California owner. He was heading away from his home on Saturday night, maybe trying to evacuate. I moved two of my cars to the third floor of a parking garage Thursday night. Water here is slowly receding. Hoping to be able to get out by tomorrow.
Glad to hear you're okay. You've definitely been very fortunate. As have so many of us. I can get around my area of cypress but I still can't really go anywhere. May be another day before I can get to my parents house.
This is the sadness we are living right now: https://www.click2houston.com/video/think-youve-seen-it-all-in-houston-neighborhood-of-underwater-homes-will-devastate-you?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KPRC2_%2F_Click2Houston
