Amazing turn of events.....no wait......it seems totally in line with past experience.
Seems to me like Bjoern lucked out. Its hard to imagine why someone would pass up a a squeaky-clean deal - willing buyer, money in escrow, within 2% of asking price - without a really good reason. Many of the reasons I can think of are bad news for the buyer.
AND it just gets better..I woke this AM to this E-mail that "Frank" sent Bjorne over night.. FRANK YOU ARE A LIAR....AND I HAVE NO ISSUE CALLING YOU THAT AS YOU ARE A LIAR ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Date: Tue, Mar 2, 2010 at 12:35 PM Subject: RE: DownDraft To: I am sorry things did not work-I had told Kevin that the deal had to get done by monday or I had to re-list. I had called and e-mailed and I did not get confirmation that they had received the wired fund sinto their account. I wish you best of luck. Frank Here is my response to Bjorne regarding this E-mail this AM. Reply |Cats Exotics to Bjoern show details 7:03 AM (1 minute ago) Hello, I can tell you from the bottom of my heart, this FRANK is a LIAR...he has had ALL paperwork since last Monday, we have repeatedly called and e-mailed for the paperwork signed and returned, each time he would say tomorrow tomorrow..he is an absolute LIAR. Of course there was NO WAY I would have forwarded your funds to him for the purchase of the car without proper paperwork signed and documentation provided for his claims of the car. My reputation required that, afterall, that is my job...to secure you the right car, at the right price with correct documentation and solid records and paperwork. I think it worked out for the best. It seems there are hidden issues wrong with this car. I think he got scarred and knew IF HE sold it to you VIA ME..that once the car arrived and we found out all the issues with the car, that I would be all over him and would not let it go like a Private party e-bay sale might..as a Dealer I would take him to task and if need be to court to right the sale of a wrongly advertised car and a sale under false pretense's...I think this is a blessing in disguise.. No question there's something "fishy" with Frank and his "car". His "my way or the highway" attitude is just precious. How could it possibly make sense to relist the car rather than wait one more day for the "papers" from a buyer? I believe Roy when he says he did send everything as stated but even if it got delayed, big deal. There is apparently something seriously wrong with the car (more fouled plugs perhaps) that he is afraid to reveal or he is just a serious dumbass. Let's hope this thread stands as a red flag to anyone wishing to do business with this guy.
Bjoern, I think it's the best like this, better stay away from a deal when it smells fishy than being disappointed with the result. Btw are you visiting central europe one? I'm sure Roy can find another nice example which is in the state it has to be. Somebody should inform ebay about this story and block this untrustable seller.
Roy, you tried to do a great service for the Lambo community, but it would be prudent to crop the email addresses you included in post #28... But again - Bravo for trying to help out!
Starting a new thread with the VIN of this car and "BUYER BEWARE" here (or anywhere else) will ensure that it is pulled up on page one of any GOOGLE search whenever someone GOOGLE's the VIN.....whch is what any savvy buyer should always do as just one part of their due diligence.......all you have to do is link the appropriate other threads to it with this one and you're good to go.
You mean this VIN, za9c00sa0gla12914? When you Google za9c00sa0gla12914 now, you only get three results for za9c00sa0gla12914, just two eBay urls and a FindYourAuto.net ad for za9c00sa0gla12914 with a buy it now of $110,500. Not a bad price for za9c00sa0gla12914, if za9c00sa0gla12914 really is as advertised and not seriously flawed, which would be a shame, as za9c00sa0gla12914 is a gorgeous looking car and would be quite rare if indeed za9c00sa0gla12914 is a US legal downdraft. I have to admit, I like za9c00sa0gla12914 despite the bumpers and the side sills. za9c00sa0gla12914, will you ever find a new home?
I don't know the parties involved or frank's car, but based on frank's behavior I wouldn't buy a dollar from him for a nickel. Caveat emptor...
Hello Raymond, Nice to hear from you. You are maybe right on this deal... Haven't done any major Lambo adventures in some years. Last really long drive was down to Sant' Agata at the 40th anniversary. I miss those 12-14 hour/day trips all over Europe... Hopefully some other interesting car will become available for me in the US. A road trip in the USA in a Lamborghini has always fascinated me... Cheers, Bjoern
Roy, as always you are a top man. Bjoern, good luck for the Silver State race. Please post pics when you are back !
Thanks! I was using the VIN as the seller has it on eBay... now it will hopefully show up in a search no matter which version of the VIN a prospective buyer uses for his search.
Funny how he wants the funds by a certain time in a certain way........ Obviously time is not of the essence. Let keep saying the car was repainted....a definite pisser off'er to his body/paint guys.
Given that there were LENGTHY discussions on the serial number of this particular car by the not so dearly departed "X", it would seem odd that the listing reflects an incorrect vin number. If one were a suspicious person, they might come to the conclusion that the seller has something to hide with respect to this car.
