This Chris Lane: Chancey Luna, 17, found guilty of murdering Australian baseballer in Duncan - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Until the reference I had know eye dear what you were talking about I think what happened to Chris Lane was the classic "wrong place wrong time" scenario but you had better check with PP, apparently he has more cred than me
Simon The problem is NOT enough guns. Now if the daughter was armed with a gun she might still be around. Mind you her mother might not be. A similar thing happened years ago when I was in the US, and maybe it is a common occurrence. A 16 year old girl slipped out of the house to see her boyfriend. When she was climbing back through the window her dad decided he would not give the intruder any chance so blew "him" away. Ooops it was his daughter. So, so sad. Trouble is with 300,000,000 guns the horse has well and truly bolted. The "good" guys will not give up their guns and leave themselves vulnerable to bad guys with guns. If I lived there I would have a gun in the house too, just in case.
So please explain how "also having a gun in the house" might help? You shoot first and kill an innocent person - how do you live with that? Or they shoot first thinking you're the intruder and you're dead or wounded - who is the winner? Mind you those who say "guns don't kill, people do" are correct in so far as how did people become so scared of their fellow citizens that their first reaction is to reach for a gun?
This seems to have more up to date figures. Gun Violence Archive And this http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/01/05/obama-admits-two-thirds-scary-gun-death-statistics-suicides/
Why bother posting all these facts and incidents, when we(the non gunners on here)have been told to FO,it's none of our business,in no uncertain terms. ......and THEN the Yanks amongst us tell us to do the same........
The frenzy in P&R since Obama announced the new gun rules (which are just extending /enforcing the current weak rules for buying a gun) is unbelievable. Wonder what would happen if they actually tried to ban assault weapons?
first 2 days here. 5 shot, two killed. all drug related. I gave away $40,000 of my guns to a DEA agent when my health became so bad that I could not fire a rifle because of the recoil. did I miss them, no. did I need them, no. did I want them, no. so why. looking back, stupid. I was like a little kid, look what I got that you don't. that's all my thing was about. I still have 5 pistols at the house and a concealed carry permit. never fired any of the guns but once at a range. since I am stuck in a cancer center for months I sent a friend by my car warehouse at 9pm last night. had an odd feeling. sure enough guy getting ready to break in. friend is a police officer. ended that guys night. if me I would have stopped as soon as o saw the acitivity and called 911. and waited. but would have had a gun as the area is really drug infested. I have bet trying for a year to get everything out, as you are aware. if I get out in the next 30 days I will have the place empty. so carried a gun since 74' never had to use one . close many time, yes. prevented me being seriously injured more than once, many times. Simon, you just cannot understand unless you were there. the drug problem is rampant and spills into every area
