What wars in Saudi Arabia are you talking about??? It's the only country in the world that doesn't allow women to drive yet western countries have no issues selling billions of dollars in weapons every year to them. US State Department approves Saudi Arabia arms sale - BBC News Why wont Obama have a cry about all the people getting bombed in Yemen? Canada not tracking Saudi rights record despite $15-billion arms deal - The Globe and Mail
Money talks and BS walks, why didn't they take SA out after 911 when it was a bunch of Saudis that perpetrated the twin tower fiasco ??!! This world is a crock of ****
it's not a crock, it's just very complex. You are fed an agenda by the media, which reflects either their opinions or what they think the majority of their audience wants to believe. Either way, it's simplistic BS. The Saud family, just another bunch of warlords, got control when the Ottoman Empire crumbled and remain a hereditary monarchy, which is contrary to Islamic ideology. They propogate a fundamentalist Wahabi version of Islam - which keeps the mullahs happy and the mullahs keep the population subdued. Sometimes the mullahs incite the wrong team, hence 911. I recommend reading "The Arabs" by Eugene Rogan. The history of Islamic conquest and rulers explains a lot of the dysfunction of the Middle East to this day.
And you think the fact they control the oil wells and simply dole out the money is coincidence? If the oil money wasn't there the Saud family would have been just a blip in history. Curious about how you link to 911 if you think bin Laden was the organizer since he was ejected from the kingdom quite some time before?
The Sauds were in control a long time before oil, the Ottomans valued them for their ability to keep a large territory within their empire. Agree they've only survived because they can buy loyalty. I'm not linking Saudis to 911, it is rather their funding of Madrassa (religious schools) across the region, and in particular Pakistan, that creates a pool of extremists. Bin Laden was able to provide employment (as mercenaries) and a purpose for disaffected young men, as ISIL/S do today. Al Qaeda faded when the money ran out, as will ISIL when the Turks are prevented from buying their oil. Then another group will pop up - extreme religion is a bottomless well of evil.
I wonder what will happen to that shiiit part of the world when self drive Tesla-like cars take over .... and when this NOW generation has control of the world it will happen very quickly, driven by insurance companies making it almost impossible to insure an ICE vehicle. You can deride my post but I'm sure it's going to happen and the future of super cars like Ferrari, Lambo, etc will be just names in history It might not happen in the next 10 years but it's not far away With no oil to fight over or use as a bargaining chip the world will become interesting ....... we'll have to go back to fighting over land takeovers
Definitely agree that extreme religion is a bottomless pit of evil. Collapsing oil price may be an advantage in getting rid of ISIL but then of course there's always the poppy fields...
Makes a lot of sense, the quicker the worlds dependence on oil happens the better. Can't remember which sheikh it was who famously said "My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I drive a Mercedes, my son drives a Land Rover, his son will drive a Land Rover, but his son will ride a camel"
Idiot. Republican Ted Cruz's claims about rape and guns in Australia slapped down - www.smh.com.au http://www.smh.com.au/world/republican-ted-cruz-claims-about-rape-and-guns-in-australia-slapped-down-20160126-gme0ah.html
Not a chance. Ferrari etc. will still make the most desirable cars in the world, they just won't be powered by petrol. Whatever ends up being the dominant power source (electric, hydrogen, whatever) will fuel the cars, but there will still be supercars, make no mistake.
Long-range heavy bombers could be based in Australia, US general reveals - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
"The United States wants to regularly rotate long-range heavy bombers through Australia" Fingers crossed they regularly rotate them over my house Edit - without leaving anything behind, thankyou smartarses
Cool. And, so what? How is that a story? I remember getting a private tour as a 10 year old through the B-52s which were based in Darwin in the early 80s.
