Luci des Bosco is much darker, the Jarama at Lutziger is Luci de Bosco.
Raymond, About this color I'm 400% sure of my confirmation : it is not "Luci di Bosco". As I wrote my Jarama GTS had it for original paint and the previous owner who had it resprayed kept a color stamp of it in original "Luci di Bosco". But in order to feed my affirmation, allow me to illustrate that Jarama #10038 is not "Luci di Bosco" compared to 2 others Lambo models painted originally "Luci di Bosco"... Espada #9204 & Countach DLA12606, do you agree ? When you look at "bronzo scuro" on the paint chart, it is the closer color to the one painted on #10038, but I'm open to discuss about it ! The first question to be asked is if that is the original paint or a respray that someone thought was a close enough match to the original for them. Joe
More than asked... doubble check myself : "Luci di Bosco" for both Espada #9204 & Countach DLA12606 is original paint... no respray ! These are my pics...
One of my fellow looking for a Jarama, saw it at DPM Monaco and told me it is more "bronzo scuro" than metallic brown. According to the DPM pictures and after my last friday visit to Lutziger, comparing with my pics of #10038, that's what it looks closer. As, I was not happy with this answer, I've analysed all the details of DPM pics... YES, I already saw it personnaly back in 2009 at Essen Techno Classica when it was still belonging to CarClassic before traded with DPM. Its VIN is #10432 that was "grigio londra/senape" when it left Sant'Agata. So, it is a resprayed Jarama. But what about the "bronzo scuro" then ? BTW, Islero #6243 was it still with its original paint or resprayed ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That color is definitely not Bronzo Scuro. Islero #6243 has been stripped and repainted in Bronzo Scuro. When the car was stripped, the original paint was found underneath, that was scanned along with the color sample that I posted by PPG. From there PPG spent about 2 weeks researching and testing to get the color mixture of modern paints to match the original. I've no problem to admit you have more experience with "bronzo scuro" than I do... that's also the reason why I've created the thread "Vintage Lambo colors"... in order to try to be more accurate or to share new PPG reference. Can I invite you to put your "bronzo scuro" sketch in that thread + your new paint reference ?
Rob de la Rive Box wrote in his book "Illustrated Lamborghini Buyer's Guide" the following sentence "...In February 1974, Ferruccio Lamborghini drove this Jarama S, chassis number 10418.". Rob just assumed Ferruccio had driven #10418, not owned. Some people still believe Ferruccio owned a Jarama as well as he really did wit Islero, Miura & Countach... I'm considering that you all know there is a Jarama GTS silver sitting in the Lamborghini familly Museo at Dosso, VIN #10404. That particular #10404 was before at La Fiorita - Umbria at Ferruccio's vineyards. He drove it for years before passed away. But, I've been informed that all cars from the collection at La Fiorita were belonging to Tonino Lamborghini, exception of Miura SV and Countach personnaly owned & titled by Ferruccio. My expertise on this matter is built throught the interviews I had with Paolo Stanzani, Ubaldo Sgarzi and Tonino himself. All of them confirmed me Ferruccio never owned a brand new Lamborghini car. He only owned secondhand Lamborghini cars. What about Jarama ? Ferruccio never owned one but drove many from the factory : test cars, used cars traded for other models, wrecked cars to be rebuilt by factory. #10418 + #10420 + #10422 were sold new to LAMBORAUTO - Torino #10418 was delivered on 8th January 1973. Did Rob make a mistake in his book ? Assuming it was #10418 he saw in February 1974, it was possibly because #10418 came back to factory either as a used car traded with another model or as a wrecked car to be repaired by the factory before being sold again. Then, Ferruccio may have driven/used it for quite a while before selling his 49% shares to Leimer. ILR is showing the above B&W picture to illustrate #10418, it is not appropriate because it is a Jarama GT, not a GTS as #10418 is... 2nd pic is engine number #40979 belonging to VIN #10418 but sitting now in another Jarama GTS #10564. Conclusion : Here are Ferrucio Lamborghini s own words, in an interview accorded to Thoroughbred & Classic Car magazine UK in January 1991 : I preferred the Jarama to all the others, because it is the perfect compromise between the Miura and the Espada. The Miura is a sport car for the young at heart who wants to go like hell and love to be seen. Myself, I considered the Miura too extrovert after a while. In turn, the Espada was my Rolls Royce : still quite fast, but also large and comfortable. The Jarama is the perfect car if you just want to have one car. ...even if he never owned one but used to drive several !!! Ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jarama European market report before Essen Technico Classica : 1. SOLD about 2 weeks ago => Jarama GT #10182, very high quality car for 70.000 . 2. SOLD about 3 weeks ago => Jarama GT #10170. AWESOME, the best Jarama I ever expertised in its original factory condition, like new for 75.000 . 3. SOLD 6 months ago => Jarama GTS #10540, I've expertised it one year ago with bad paint and weak engine. Since it got a full overhaul and gone for 50.000 last September 2010. Now offered for 58.000 . 4. SOLD 6 months ago => Jarama GT #10246. I expertised it last summer, factory restoration in th '90s, very dusty and incomprehensively forgot by family owner, good bargain it went for 35.000 last September 2010. Cosmetics clean & a big service make it now a very good driveable & desirable GT. Offered for now for 72.000 . My conclusion is : "hurry up" a cheap Jarama in EEC will no longer be available ! The cars still advertised on Internet for years are in bad shape and request a minimum of 20.000 investment.
wow... Olivier these cars are moving! we also have one that's up for sale should one of your friends or clients be interested in looking for a nice silver gray example. I will post pics in a few minutes with info on it.

Today, I had the pleasure to welcome Kevin - KC023515 to my home place and we had a nice talk, exchanged Lambo infos and get a get ride in GTS #10528... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FXQ7mfGugM[/ame] ...irresistible music...
Hi Olivier, It was a great ride and always nice to share Lambo stories. Here's another video: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8QSPXW4MGQ[/ame] Theres one thing I forgot to ask you. Why do you have a radio in your car? I cant image something that can beat the V12 surround orchestra.
Hi Olivier, you are probably the best person to give a reliable estimate on the number of Jaramas actually still existing or known to be existing.. Can you tell us more on this? Thanks, George Arnold
I believe around 200 survived. This number I got by sorting my records for each car by last known date. After that I divided the last known dates into timescales and multiplied the total for each timescale with an estimated survivor ratio for that timescale. The below numbers are only for cars for which the VIN is known. < 1980 : 167 units x 33% = 55 1980 1989 : 4 units x 65% = 3 1990 1999 : 11 units x 80% = 9 2000 2009 : 94 units x 90% = 85 2010 2011 : 46 units x 100% = 46 destroyed : 5 units
May be 200 survived over 327 produced (177 + 150)... but I have only 164 cars recorded with pics & VIN in my files, over this figures I've direct contact with 122 owners.
We will never know for sure Some cars will disappear, other will be (re)discovered. Beside there are also some mystery cars. These are not counted in the calculations because a mystery car at a certain stage can be a recorded car at another stage.
Below are some mystery cars which were recently spotted, anyone who knows the VINs ? The first one is a Silver GTS, exhibited at the CIAS in Toronto (Canada) in 2008 Image Unavailable, Please Login
