    SB,
yours shows the weld marks and the certification tag on the muffler that I didn't think it was acceptable. Felix gladly sent out a replacement but I doesn't hinder performance...matter of fact, it may be lighter. Also, if your covering it so i guess it doesn't matter. Otherwise, I hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

I did grind, sand and ported out the metal over lay & welds of the exhaust pipe with the tailpipe. It was REALLY bugging me when I look at my car from the rear.

A set of tungsten bits and my air tool made quick work of the the inter pipes!

I did a lot of research on exhausts for my upcoming F430 and I have finally selected Kline will be it. Big thanks to Skim and others that have shared with us their experience with it.

    Question please:
Does the exhaust kit come with instructions on how to install it?

If not can someone share a quick DIY?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Dan

Yes, it comes with instructions although they are minimal. There's 3 connectors. Two plug into your exhaust valve solenoids and replace the existing connections. Then with one of the existing connections (now unplugged) plug that into the 3rd remaining (ECU) connector of the Inconel switch. The connectors are shaped so that you can't plug them in the wrong way around.

    To summarise Flea7's findings:
    - the ECU switch polarity is incorrect for Ferrari's out of the box
    - move the receiver box as far away from the exhaust as possible as it is affected by heat. A heat shield may also be a worthwhile investment

The right hand side install is straightforward. The left hand solenoid is difficult to access. Stef posted a great guide with pictures on a Capristo switch install (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/310472-diy-f430-capristo-remote-unit-installation.html). You're gonna pretty much do a similar thing.

Yes, the right hand side is pretty straight forward...but you can access the left by unbolting 2 bolts that secures what I'm guessing is the compressor tank. it's a tight squeeze to access the solenoid but it can be done. use a long needle nose pliers to take off the securing pin and pull out. I didn't have to take off the tire or panels.

To secure the control unit in a place where it is out of the area of the heat, you will have to make the lefthand wire longer. You will know what I mean when you connect the 3 connections.

How does the electronic work? Just forced open and normal? Or forced open and forced closed?

Forced open and always open when light is lit and on. When off, it operates as normal ...stock. It opens on aggression ...on rpm.

Just fitted 200 cell cats to my set up. It's now AP headers, 200 cell cats and Kline exhaust. Wow, this is proper now. I think the cats help turn the volume back to what it was with AP headers, stock cats and exhaust.

The Kline attenuates certain frequencies to enhance the F1 sound and in doing so ends up quieter than the stock exhaust.

There's a much louder bark on start up. The metallic F1 hum can be heard more clearly throughout the range (cruising around 2-3K rpm). Hit the 5K+ level and watch as the eardrums of passers by start to bleed. Close the valves and it quietly cruises along.

    Thanks for the great info.

Can you kindly share with us which 200 cell cats you purchased and installed?

    Hey Stick,
I'm getting a little idle fluctuation when cold. Did you ever get something like that with the cat removal?? When cold ...it idles up and down 2 to 3 hundred rpm. It's gone when at temp. It existed with the stock set up as well....so it's not the Kline.

It may be due to the test pipes. I'm planning on Mase doing the ECUs soon......maybe that will take care of it.

    Hi Skim,

My experience with hunting idle is either dirty MAFS or MAFS going bad / ending its useful life.

It may be just a coincidence on your Kline installation.

Easy troubleshooting in case you dont know this yet:

    Remove both MAF's.
    Spray it with MAF cleaner.
Reinstall and see if the hunting idle goes away.
If it goes away - time for new MAFs

    Hope that helps.

    Dan

Hi Skim, no idle fluctuation with my setup. It just sounds bloody loud! Just received my Tig finger through the post. Will use this as a heat shroud for the exhaust valve controller and see if that helps.

Thanks Dan.....I'll give it a try. It started when I ran the test pipes.

Let us know how that Iconel button works out. The Tig finger should keep the heat off the unit. I've had no problems with mine since.

Fitted the tig sleeve. Hopefully this will solve any heat issues. I zip tied the assembly to the frame but left the aerial sticking out

    Hey Stick,
Yes, that is the same area I have placed my control unit. Mine is tied to the line loosely on the left by the frame.

I did have an issue today that is totally not related. Test pipe failure. :(

Sound clip is great on the Kline. I wonder how it compares to the S-line sound.
