That is such a great magazine! I got a copy back in late-83 or early-84 at a Grocery Store! I was standing in line and saw it on the magazine rack. I had never heard of "Automobiles Classiques" before I saw this! I grabbed a copy and still have it in my collection today. It was the first time that I had ever read anything directly from Ferruccio where he talked about forming his company after his discussion (or lack thereof) with Enzo about his clutches. If memory serves me correctly, it was published in France. I notice your copy is in French. Mine is in English. Wonder how many languages they published it in? I tried to subscribe to it back then, but never saw another issue!
I did not even know they published an English language issue. They have got highs and lows (the mag. even belonged for 15years to Condé Nast), but we celebrate this month the # 205 issue. And the 10 1st issues are all uniques and rares w/ the participation of great writers, drivers and photographers (Prunet, Bellu, Peter Vann,...)
As you stated in your previous post, the magazine is such high quality! Back in the 80's when most auto magazines here in the USA were all "mainstream" and mass produced (i.e. Car and Driver, Road & Track, Autoweek, etc..), this was a standout in quality for sure!! Very thick stock for paper and the photo's were amazing!! Mike
The first and most difficult to find Countach LP400 catalogue is for sale on eBay. Current bid is very low at 89$. One day left. Thought it could interest some people out there. For information, it took me years to find it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/most-rare-1974-Lamborghini-Countach-LP400-cataloge-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3cb804553aQQitemZ260785329466QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiteratureQQvilZ1#ht_500wt_956 Image Unavailable, Please Login
No worries..some else got it..I went to $450.00..it went for more. I did not need it that bad.. Got to be a new record for an item like this..??
Possibly record money for a folded one. Unfolded usually go to around this level or higher. Anyway, it's one of my absolute favorite pieces of automobilia.
Can someone please tell me if the was such a thing as a Lamborghini dealer book or an official world wide dealer list, in the early to mid 1980's. I am most interested in 81-86. Mark Shannon
As I went through my magazine archives the other day in search of the Feb 1977 edition of CAR ( Convoy article ), I came across this little jewel. It was the first I had heard of Lamborghini and I was blown away. Surprisingly, as a 13 year-old in 1966, I only removed the logo photo. I have gone through the mag from cover to cover these past few days looking for a precise publication date, but all I can see is 1966. As another article deals with the 1966 F1 Championship ( mainly Monaco ), but also refers to Spa which was held on June 12th. So, it may be a June or July publication. I hope you can read all the text. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
