Re the lights, novitec don't seem to carry any of these 456 mods except the wheels. I am considering removing the headlights and moulding the covers into the hood. Then doing what we do on the race cars and fit headlights into the fog lights, however I am not sure this will pass our vehicle tests over here. More research needed but I don't like the novitec plexiglass look anyway. For anyone wanting the wheels these 430 wheels are plentiful and cheap as the owners upgrade to Scuderia wheels, 30mm rear type 2 spacers and a 15mm lowering, use miata.net to calculate tyre sizes. But some great threads on here with all the information.

That won't work as I believe the pop-up headlights was often used as a way to make the front end of cars lower without violating the rules for headlight height.

Yes think you are right on the headlights. Think I will stick with the originals

Novitecs. And suspension setup. This is from Scuderia systems Novitec's UK agent.

    Dear Sir,

Thank you for your recent enquiry to Novitec Germany. We have been asked to help you as we are the UK importer for Novitec.
In answer to your enquiry, there has never been a bodykit for the for the Ferrari 456GT from Novitec - there has only been a set of wheels. We have supplied many of these wheelsets together with suspension tuning package which optimises the cars geometry and ride height to get the very most from the benefits of the larger rubber and of course, to enhance the way the car sits on the road.

Please consult the pictures above - note the following:
    1. The blue 456 has had the suspension tuned and wheels fitted.
    2. The black 456 has had the suspension tuned and wheels fitted.
    3. The silver 456 had (when pictured) not had the suspension tuned - this was done subsequently.

The details of the upgrade are as follows:

    1. The Novitec 19" NF2 Wheel (Enzo Look) and Spacer package.
    They package comes as follows:
Front wheels are 9" wide sitting on Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyre with the following size: 255/35 R19
Rear wheels are 12.5" wide sitting on Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyre with the following size: 355/25 R19
The rear wheels are mounted with a 25mm spacer.

    The second element is:

    2. A Gentle suspension setup.
    The work includes:
    a) Lowering the car
b). Improving the "stance" of your 456 so that it actually sits like a supercar instead of the "rollerskate" settings of the original suspension.
c). Fully setup the car's suspension to work at the new ride height and with the new wheels and to optimise the car's handling. It's worth nothing that this work will be giving you a huge improvement in body control, less pitch under braking, less squat under acceleration, and less body roll when you really lean on the car. In addition the reduced ride height has the effect of enhancing the cars aerodynamics (essentially increasing the effect of the underbody venturis/rear skirt) improving motorway and high speed stability. Together with the new rubber you'll get a huge improvement in outright grip during cornering and poor

    The costs breakdown as follows:

    - The Novitec 19" NF2 Wheel/Tyre (Enzo Look) and Spacer package: £4990 + VAT - please note that the huge tyres in themselves are almost £1200 alone!
    - Suspension Setup: £632 + VAT

It's a package which utterly transforms the look, the feel, the handling, the grip and the presence of the 456.
We have attached a few pictures of previous cars we have equipped.

Do feel free to give us a call on 01784 434395 to discuss.

    Kind Regards

    Manu

Some will think I am spoiling the original and that's a valid point of view, mine is that I am bringing a nearly 20 year old supercar bang up to date.[/QUOTE]

And that's all that matters !

    cheers,

FOC outing to Chateau and Mount Ruapehu, North Island, New Zealand with my wife in 355 and my 2003 575M F1 - since replaced with a 2004 575M 6 speed in RC/Crema - same as 355 - coincidentally. Other images and story on www.ferraridriver.co.nz Cheers, Phil

After seeing all these great pics (IMHO) the 456 looks a lot better with different wheels other than the original ones...

    cheers,

Bill- You got that right. 456/456M cars look great with 575M wheels (18" or 19") and with Novitec NF2s. Really updates the look and seems to shrink the size of the car, which is not all that big at any rate. 456 wheelbase 2600 mm, 612 2950 mm, FF 2990 mm.

Frank - Great pics and great to have your Ferrari at your wedding!

Maybe my wife would have been afraid I would marry the Ferrari and not her :)

Frank- Pretty car, pretty wife. I had been married a year before I got the Dino 246 GT. Had to settle for a 69 911S for the wedding.

Terry and Markus -- thanks for your comments. Yes, my dear wife knew what she was getting into before she married me. The Maranello could not be further from her 114,000 mile 1996 manual shift Saab. Took many years to find the right car and the right woman. Frank
