Hi Ron, I can spot that recessed front bumper anywhere! Nice to see you move into the general neighborhood. PM me if you are ever in the Atlanta area, and we'll have a Maserati GT get together. I was at Ivan's house to see that Bora about a week or two prior to you buying it. Very nice car! Your Bora now looks fantastic, just as in Norbye's book. Keep us posted on yor progress. Keep up the great work. Ciao, George
Nice car!! Not too rambunctous like its contemporaries but every bit as potent and much more livable. You have great taste in cars, I have always loved the Bora, one of Giugiaros best!!
Time to revive this thread! #918 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Maserati-Coupe-BORA-1975-MASERATI-BORA-COUPE-1-7-BUILT-U-S-MARKET-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5adc4a40ebQQitemZ390242910443QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks It's a USA 1975 model so it has the big rubber bumpers. It looks to have been nicely restored with most details I can spot from the pictures looking correct. I wish it would sell for that much. But this is damn close to what they actually looked like when delivered new. Small quibbles: The air cleaner is way too glossy on top and is missing all of the silk screening & decals. The emissions cannsters are missing. The carpet in the engine compartment (doesn't that sound strange?) is the wrong color and probably style as well. Bob S.
A while back Ivan said he's never see a Bora with a foot rest. My 77 has one and here's another. http://i.ebayimg.com/11/!B1kc9oQB2k~$(KGrHqYOKjQE)UfLJHN+BMe+yvE83!~~_12.JPG
Any other pics of #298 with the custom wheels? It looks as if the ride height is lowered as well? Thanks, LS

Its paint is much to "fat" on the car, then its horrible US-spec-details. The car is flying around varios dealers but none of them could sell this poor Bora so far! Ciao! Walter
Filled in the original exhaust tip openings in the USA style valence. Painted and moved the rubber bumper up to where the S.S. is located. Added the European exhaust grill and most likely cobbled up an exhaust system. Why they felt compelled to paint the rubber bumpers I don't know. Even if they get damaged badly I've seen people repair them very nicely. Maybe they thought they were bringing the car into the 21st century style wise? The license plate area has been futzed with as well.

This would be the complete opposite of the e-bay car listed above. It is a 779 (!) mile Bora that the owner was considerate enough to let me take some pictures of today. Still has plastic on the inner doors. It is stunning! http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5600661231/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5600663195/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5601244476/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5601243496/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5600658379/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5600656789/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5601240496/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5600655443/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/40174000@N03/5600654043/
I wonder if it is missing any parts This car is for some very brave person ... or someone that restored a VW beetle and feels he can now tackle a Bora (good luck!). Ivan
The car appears on page 22 of the April Classic & Sports Car. They claim it's for sale and give the number 330 759 5224.
So what are you saying? Are you asking if it's the same car? Are you insinuating that's it's not actually in Chicago? Interesting first post.
Insinuating? William asked for a phone number. By coincidence, I'd just gotten the new issue of the magazine and the same car was shown. I passed on the number. Why is that "interesting" to anyone but perhaps William Abraham?
