Metallic Pistachio & Natural Don't cheap out go buy a copy! (or on these forums, I guess one must carefully say, only buy an original, not a copy .) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think Joe said lot 11 in the Gooding auction, a red Daytona coupe, went for just north of 600K. 3 to 1. Horseys rule yet!
OMG!! Whats happening? Is this because of global warming? Here are pictures of #2414 that I just picked up for a 3rd of that price..

Looks like you got a fantastic buy there, well done, ... I paid a quarter of the price but the car will need about $30K spent on bodywork, new paint and a bit of retrimming before it resembles a nice Ghibli but I'm just happy I got it before the cars were totally out of my reach
I feel the same way. If they keep going up, who knows? Mine does need some paint repairs, small bits and pieces all over, electric stuff..Maybe $20k?
Sorry if i repost but does anybody know if this giallo Ghibli SS is still for sale? Candini Workshop Thanks Julius
A few months ago, it was still for sale. I've only seen it once in person and it looked great! Mind you, I'm not an expert so "looked great" is rather loosely defined in this context. It is also for sale by Candini, which says something good about the car... Why not phone them? Marcello (his son) speaks English and he'll be able to tell you if the car is still for sale.
That car was on display on the official Maserati stand in Padova in Oct. It looked fantastic and according to Fabio Collina that we spoke to. The car was renovated more than 15 years ago and hardly used since then. "Could be for sale at 200´Euros!"
Car was delivered this week after spending 7 months at the paint shop. I have 5 weeks to get it ready for Amelia. Ivan Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you're serious about purchasing it send an email to Enrico. He has a very good relationship with them. He's helped me out a couple of times.
That's a huge garage. The cars are pretty damn nice too! Did your paint shop take the car with the interior in it?
The interior was gutted with the exception of the dash. Yesterday I worked on the vent window frames as they were re-chromed and new rubber needed to be installed, vent glass mounted on frame, etc. It took 3 hours per side to assemble the vent windows. Today I spent the whole morning installing one of the vent windows on the car. Hooking up the mechanism that open the window is a pain on a Ghibli. With any luck I can get on one door the window frames installed and adjusted this afternoon. This is one of the most time consuming task so I'm tacking it first, some of the other stuff will go much quicker. Ivan
HI Ivan, Having seen your work before we know it is going to be more than OK. The process sounds very familiar and brings back the sweat(!) memories! "It is not easy to be a perfectionist!" A comment I get from my wife regularly when she enters my garage and finds me busy with some detailing... Ciao, Bart
That makes sense. I'm nervous about sending a car with anything still on it to the painters. I still have to assemble my GOC (Ghibli II) this spring, hopefully, and I'm dreading the potential overspray (yellow) I'll find on the rear mechanicals. The engine was out and there's not much interior in that car except for ... the dash which is black leather and alcantara.
You really need to stipulate the overspray-thing, which really is just lazyness if it happens, and a real pain for the owner. Too often I've seen cars that had nicely detailed suspensions, and when they came back from paint the wheelhouses and everything in them were as black as the night. That's a lot of $$$ damage, and if you didn't explicitly discuss this with the paintshop, it's your baby to rectify it. Best, Jack.
Bob, I also learned the hard way, restoring a Volvo 1800 ES 30 years ago. It went to the paintshop straight after I rebuilt and detailed the engine. When it came back, everything underneath was covered in bitac (bitumenous material like body-schutz), including the sump. When I removed it from the sump, I found it covered in primer. That never happened to me since. They may think I am full of sh*t when I bring a car, but hey, I have to pay the bill too, don't I? Best, Jack.
