Hi, Does anyone know if the small fusebox on an early Ghibli is shared with a period Mass production car? [ Alfa etc ] Its the black unit seen here next to the main fusebox with the 4 fuses inside Many Thanks Julian Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Julian. It seems to have been widely used, although I have only found 1 supplier Of new ones here. OKP Parts and Engineering GmbH It's a bit pricey. All the best. Mark.
Hi Mark, I'm not sure about those....the radii look much bigger on the corners for one. Ps got a full set of early vents at last. Many Thanks and one day I'll be after a set of you beaut Mark special knobs to go with them!! Julian
Chris Sweetapple from the Highwood Motor Company who specialises in 1960's Alfa parts didn't recognise this as an Alfa part. Any other ideas? Julian
You are right Julian. I've just taken a look at mine and the corners are much sharper. I'll bet it is out there somewhere on a Fiat ice cream van or something....! I'll keep an eye out. Mark.
Hi again, I've been stripping the bitumen underseal off the inner front wheel arch liners. Its pretty thick and takes a quite few coats of paint stripper to remove. I will be renewing the rubber liner sections and straightening out any obvious dents too. I'd like to replicate its original appearance as well as I can afterwards though. Any good tips on this classic Maserati rough finish? There were a few repeats of the chassis number on these panels which is always a nice find too Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think this looks close...what do you think? Julian Laverda 1000 Jota 1200 Mirage Triple Fuse Box Fusebox 4 Way New | eBay
Hi again, I have an extra wire that feeds from the same branch of the loom as the other 8 wires going into the small fuse box. It feeds into the topmost fuse on the left side and its a dirty beige colour. I have looked at 2 other Ghiblis here in Melbourne and they both have only 8 wires feeding into the small fuse box. Does anyone have any ideas as to why its there? The photos show my car at the top and David's car which was built 15 before mine as comparison many thanks once again Julian Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are many newer and better products on the market but they won't be nearly as easy to remove the next time. 3M body shutz. I used truck bed liner to cover an protect some gas tanks which were internal to a car and only had thin paint on them before. It insulates too which is good for preventing sweating in humid locations. My Bora had the bitumen stuff sprayed in many places in the engine compartment, wheel arches and underneath it was just bare metal ... When only the best will do they didn't bother.
I have a questions to all you experienced Ghibli owners.. On my car where the top of the dashboard comes in almost contact with the front windshield, there is a 1/2" gap between the windshield and dashboard... Is this normal or am I missing something? Thank you.. Mike
If you can see the wiring then the car is probably missing the piece of black felt that is glued just below the windshield and lays on top of the wiring. Ivan Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Mike.. Attached are two pictures of my Ghibli during dis-assembly. These pictures may show the felt strip a little better and is in line with what Ivan indicates... Hope this helps.. Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Thanks so much Ivan and Mike. You guys are the best... I will take these pictures to my upholstery guy to look at.. Mike
Hi Mike.. Have you posted any pictures of your car?? If not, you should do so.. I have a separate thread for my Ghibli Resto, you may want to consider doing the same... Your choice.. Mike
Hey everyone. You are my Big Brothers now.. I'm looking to you for advice again.. I'm missing a metal finish cover that goes over my radiator. I have nothing to reference too. Here are a few pictures... Let me know what you think? Thank you, Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Julian, By 'replicate' - do you want 'concourse' quality, or just a basic 'factory appearing' texture? Here are some options I can vouch for: Option 1.: Striving for perfection by many American muscle car restorers have brought out some products that replicate the heavy build-up of material that "modern" coatings are unable to do. Here is a link to a product touted by those restoring 60's Chrysler muscle cars to "concourse" levels. I researched it for my '65 Plymouth Satellite and the build-up is significant... Restorations by Rick Kreuziger - Products and Component Restoration Option 2.: If you are merely looking for some good "splatter" texture and not concerned with factory thickness, I recommend trying Evercoat 1348 in spray cans. I used this on my Plymouth (and it looks like the gunk used on my Bora's panels). On the Satellite I modulated finger pressure on the spray nozzle to maximize "splatter". I laid it on in 3-4 layers to the desired effect. Messy but got the job done. Best, - Art This photo shows the Plymouth. 'Concourse quality' coating from Resto-Rick is on the upper left. Compare that to the face of the subframe on the upper right, which is 1 layer of Evercoat 1348. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Art, I was hoping to replicate the look but as this finish is very visible on the top rails in the engine bay where the chassis number is screwed in , I was hoping to recreate a pretty convincing finish. Underneath would be nice but slightly less important Julian
