He's far from the most popular player but I am really rooting for Sergio (plus I have money on him)

    Bummer about DJ.

Happy for Sergio... I was a fan of his in the early 2000's... he just could never break through in Tiger's world.

Lots of other guys really crapped the bed this week.

Thanks Tom. I also had Adam Scott at an attractive 20-1 and H. Stenson at 25-1. Sergio opened 30-1. I put the bets about 2 hours before DJ's announcement about his back injury, so that helped. Am plowing some of profits into Eagles, a sure lock for Super Bowl crown.

Since Jordan won the Masters 2 years ago(?) and THE PRESS built him
up to be the next Tiger/Jack/Arnold, he's come back to earth and he's
    just another golfer now. IMO

Well considering he's played the Masters 4 times and this was his first finish outside the top 2, I'd say he's a bit more than another golfer ;)

i try not to get would up about announcers but Jim Nantz had a total man love thing for Spieth...Faldo right behind him. They kept trying to put the whammy on Sergio.

Spieth is an impressive talent. A lot of people think he just overbooked himself and it is difficult to handle the overwhelming demands that success brings. The kid is a class act and a fine golfer who has more majors in front of hi, although he better get that driving game strengthened.

That was the difference with Tiger. He THRIVED on the pressure.

There are thousands of amazing golfers in the world... they're working as pros at your local country club or they play just for fun... they can shoot scores just as low as any Tour player... BUT, under the pressure of a tournament? They fold.

Golf is at least 80% mental...

Even I can hit every shot on the golf course PERFECTLY...... Can I do it every time under pressure? No way.

    Gotta love golf!!!

Point being, as I stated, THE PRESS built up the crap out of him, and he has
not performed as THE PRESS thinks he should, or would.
According to the press, he should have about 8 majors by now.
And to me, he is no better than anyone else on the tour NOW.

I've been golfing for 46 years and I suck (14 hpc).

I think Speith is going to win many tourneys and some majors, because he can putt exceptionally.

I threw Sergio under the bus after 11. Figured he would pull a Sergio and fold completely, was very happy to see him win, but I thought Justin Rose was going to beat him in the playoff after he missed the putt on 18.

Have to believe the entire tour expected him to make that putt. Seve must have grabbed him by the throat in the scoring tent, prior to the playoff.

that's BS, I think the press has him at a Top 5 player with and win and two runner-ups who is very young and still has room to develop.

As I said back then. This. Putting can change everything, quickly.
