So if I want a performance car, I'll buy a Tesla. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cA1doO_9h8[/ame]
Remember the Tesla performance tails off as speeds exceed around 160kmh. Most Tesla models have a top speed of 200kmh or less. P85D is 250kmh from memory. What is a 458's top speed, 330kmh? My P85D arrives in June apparently. More excited about that than the Speciale
So watt? If you stick enough power in any car it will out-accelerate a Ferrari. Just as bogans in Commodores have been saying for years. Having said that, when Tesla release a car in the size I want I'll likely buy one as my DD. Personally I don't see the point in that kind of performance in a DD.
Course it does. That model is, watt, $70k more than the mid-range model once optioned out? That is a hell of a lot of money (well, for mere mortals anyway). When you can buy a decently specced model S for $130k which still does 0-100 in mid 5s there's no way I could justify spending over $200k just for more performance in a car I'm going to trundle to work and back in. Of course for those who can afford it, good luck to you.
all things being equal, the twin motor model is 10k more than the single motor model. So it doesn't cost nothing LITERALLY, but it's bugger all for that performance. The rest of your argument is ridiculous. if that was all that mattered, no one would buy a ferrrari or Porsche etc etc etc
