Right now, that's too much of a project for me. However, I'm nearing retirement in the next 10 years (or less hopefully). At that point, I'd take it on. I always wanted a Maserati in my garage. I think it would make a great stablemate for the Mondial. Lately, I've been having (impure) thoughts of acquiring a Bi-Turbo. Another, unloved (hated) Italian 4 seater coupe! Maybe I'm that guy that the ugly (but loveable) dogs/cats follow home? Sid
Hurricane flood cars. This Mondial certainly looks like it. Also, take a look at this TR. The exterior and interior aren't too bad. Wait till you see the underside of the engine photos. Looks like the car was in standing water for an extended period. 1987 Ferrari Testarossa | Beverly Hills Car Club Sid
Hey guys on my search for a 3.2 cab I found this one black with red leather. First time I see the top of dashboard and doors Cartier red. As anybody seen that already on a Mondial, can it be special order or done aftermarket ? I don't have other details yet (nor the price !). Ok I forgot about the wooden wheel, I guess original one was red leather also, but finding a stock one shouldn't be so difficult.. Happy new year to all of you ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
To set the record straight the difference in prices between American Mondials and European Mondials has nothing to do with foreign exchange rates. As a matter of fact, the USDollar has strengthened consistently in the past 18 months or so making European products in European Currencies much cheaper for Americans. Two examples: A Mondial priced in the UK at £30,000. July 2014 £ = $1.71 so would cost $51,300 The same listing today would cost $43,500 Jan 2016 £ = $1.45 A Mondial priced in Europe at 40,000 July 2014 = $1.40 so would cost $56,000 The same listing today would cost $43,600 Jan 2016 = $1.09 It was also my impression that many of the European Mondials were priced higher than their American counterparts.
So, probably not relevant. However, the top of my dash, and the top door panel are black leather. The center dash, and center+lower door panels are both Saddle (Tan) leather. Sid
auction in 2 weeks, estimate is obviously there to tempt folk, i reckon £32k for that its lurvlee 1989 Ferrari Mondial for Auction - Anglia Car Auctions not many details yet
thanks for posting...is it just me or is there very little info on this car 1) Mileage 2) Current Condition 3) No info on service records 4) No explanation for why it comes with a dead engine I think the low price is aligned with the lack of info....
This is very cheap for a T model. Not sure if the owner is in need of money and wants to get sell it quickly. PPI surely recommended
From the ad: "An invoice on file shows that a replacement used engine has been supplied and fitted. The original used engine comes with the car." Alden
Ack! That steering wheel is hurting my feelings! But black/red is by far the prettiest colour combo on a Mondial.
Will be interesting to see what this one goes for Ferrari Mondial | eBay They will be lucky to get $15K. It's been discussed here before and obviously no takers. They say it needs cosmetics but I see missing engine parts and that's not a good sign. Also no statement regarding maintenance history (it does not look "cared for", probably needs a major despite recent steam clean) nor which state it came out of, etc etc. The rear bumper has been re-riveted so it's probably had a collision. Needs paint as well as interior. You have to be very brave to take this on ... it's probably best bought as a parts car.
I would swear that is a 3.2 dash in that car and with it being an 82 that would make it an 8 version.
I've called the seller, who is the 2nd owner from new. The year in the ad is obviously wrong as it is 1989. Also the engine is advertised wrongly as 3000. The mileage is about 59k km, but the last major service was done at 20k km. So it seems that this car has belts with about twenty years and original tyres! Sunday I'll go to see the car and all the papers. I'm looking at the Mondial market as I've recently got a cabriolet 3.2 (as my first 8V) and I'm thinking to take another car mainly for body, interior and electrical parts.
BHCC. Yowza. I'm seeing... $20k for proper repaint (with rust removal) $1k for minor bodywork fixes $10k for a new interior (maybe more?) $10k minimum for engine work $10k for misc + commonly known but "can't see 'em" issues. ie- new fuse box, window motors, sunroof motor, tires I'm thinking $51k minimum to bring it back up to snuff, on top of whatever someone pays for it as is. That's assuming the engine isn't too bad. It could need more than $10k just in engine parts alone. If you can do all your own paint/body/engine work yourself then maybe it's a good project car.
Why would you not make it more even and take some from the other wheels? Or maybe there is only one on each left wheel?
Nice Mondial t for sale. Asking $79,900 http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=14304&endYear=2017&startYear=1981&firstRecord=0&searchRadius=0&listingId=419812699
Seller contacted me and offered a killer deal on the Beverly Hills coupe! Only $17,500 and they would consider an offer. I don't have any idea as to what he's smoking but that whole deal smells bad.
Has anyone had any experience with Berlinetta Motorcars in Long Island NY? They seem to have a good reputation. The reason I ask is that they are advertising a '90 Mondial T Cab Ferrari 246 Dino for sale, Ferraris for sale, ferrari for sale, Ferrari 365 gtb/4 daytona for sale, 1973 Ferrari 246 GTS for sale, Ferrari 365 GTC/4 for sale The description is: "20,506 miles. Tubi Exhaust, radar front and rear, excellent condition. $49,900 with fresh major engine out service by Berlinetta Motorcars. S/N ZFFFK33AOL0086734" Seems like a decent price given miles condition and 'fresh engine out service'. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or comments on either this car or the seller. Thanks in advance for your input.
