Thanks for the pictures ... interesting. You would think that Ferrari would post pictures of a clean cylinder head wouldn't you. That one looks like it has carbon buildup ;)

Anyway the alloy dash option looks 100000000 times better than the carbon fibre cheap job. My choice :)

Car is definitely growing on me.

Sure does. Anything looks better than Carbon fiber with high-gloss polyester finish. The question is, is this really aluminum or plastic. Looks more like the latter to me.

I don't like the fact that none of these 430 show cars has a 6-speed. Is this a bad sign?

They had three 430s at the show. Were they all F1?

Can anyone confirm that a 6-speed will be offered?

Ill confirm that too....a 6 speed will be offered.

Luca said that as long as hes around, Ferrari will still offer a manual 6 speed on all of their "regualr" road cars.

I really hope that they dont completely phase out the 6 speed....i prefer driving that off the track (even on the track too). although, the F1 is a lot of fun

The pics of the silver car that janus posted are def. the best pics I have seen of the F430 so far. The CS style mirrors are def. a must for this car over the standard mirrors. I would also order this model w/out the shields as I think it looks cleaner. Looking forward to seeing pics of the car in some darker colors (black & blues) in the future.

Hey guys this is my first post(after sitting in the background for a few days just reading), and I have to say that I think the nose is a step back from the modena. The Modena was more rounded, yet the nostrils are more round on the 430. This to me makes little sense, but I do like the back of the car. I don't think the back ties into the front in the least. What do you think?

I TOTALLY think the F430 looks MUCH better then the 360. The 360 nose is to "female" looking to me, not aggressive enough.

What I liked about the front of the 360 was that it was purposeful, ie. they put the raditors infront of the front wheels ... thus that is where the air inlets were.

The front of the F430 (which is its best point to me :)) has removed a little of this purposefullness by chucking in stylised air inlets that are only that shape because somebody drew a couple of ovals.

I'm a function comes first person ... the F430 does shout a little to loudly that it is a fast car, with all the scoops, etc.

Chucking? It's a tribute to the 156 F1 car Phil Hill won the first championship for Ferrari with. They look like that shape for a reason.

Yep, but not a functional one.

Tributes are just as bad as retro styling ... :(. Ferrari so far have just paid tribute with names (as have Alfa Romeo), now we are getting into the cosmetic stuff.

BUT if somebody can show me the windtunnel, etc. results that prove that these oval intakes perform better ... I'll completely shut-up ;)

    Pete's opinion

    Pete,

Is Ryan (Ryalex) paying you for PR and marketing work? :)

I prefer the 360 front end as well, especially the CS style.
