this is my ceramic brake disc and it looks like this. Does it look like normal ? Because it is different from my friend's 458 disc.
I've read several threads on here about techniques to bed the brakes. Can someone tell if the look of the disc is consistent with that procedure?
Very nice photo, thanx ! Does this actually show that the middel pipe has no real function ? Only 2 nice flames ... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks ! I see in the gopro video that it only has flames in left and right ones, the middle does not work I guess.
Attached is a photo taken from the technical shop manual regarding what the proper disc apperance should be. In the photo you attached, your rotors look to me to be very similar, if not worse, to the attached photo which calls for replacement. I don't know much more then that. I have 3000 miles on my 2011, and it's never seen the track. I have very few, if any, little cracks in the surface. your photos looks like the entire rotor is full of them. Thanks for the information, It really helps than the conclusion is replacement how much does it cost do you know ?
I would not assume they need replacement just yet....I would have a dealer take a look. They definitely look strange in the photo you provided though. Maybe someone else can chime in and offer an opinion. I have no idea on cost - but you can bet they aren't cheap!
You should start a new thread for the brakes. probably get more response that way. The rotors cost alot, something like $18 000 usd. There are forums on replacement including refinishing or buying Z06 ceramic brake rotor which apparently is interchangable.
I am looking for wheels in this color for my 458. What you suggest ? Do you know anyone who sells his rims in this color ?
Suggest you find the rims you like and then have them professionally powder coated in the color of your choice. The powder coating should cost approximately $100 per wheel. Steve
