Make sure you keep puppy's nails clipped ;)
Thank you. I made some kid's day. He had his mom stop and wanted to take a picture of the car he had never seen in person, yet lived in his bedroom for more than a decade. The kid could have been me, except that he's half my age. I told him to hop in (carefully!) and took this pic that he thanked me a dozen times for making it happen! Nice kid. Awesome! I remember the first time I saw a Countach. It was also white, parked outside Napa auto parts store with the doors open. I drooled over it for quite some time hoping the owner would come out. Took a few pics with my phone, but this was before phones were also cameras, so the pics were terrible, lol I believe the owner of this car also owned the Napa store. It was featured on a local TV program that I just happened to catch one day... Just seeing it sure made my day! You don't see these kind of cars around here. I might as well seen a unicorn!
Jay: Our hounds need to get together and compare "Countach Stories". LOL!!! Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep, that was me! I'm not sure why you floored it when I got to next to you. We both know you're in a modern rocket with four wheels. Plus, I had my son in the car. I had no interest in drag racing you in a car which I just recently received and was driving for the first time. You just gave me a relative reference point for V12 acceleration on the way over to my local Cars and coffee.
Sorry, not me, just reposting from another forum, I should have clarified. People trying to race in traffic, or really on the street in general can get annoying. I've seen people fly by in rush hour to show off and almost cause a wreck more times than I can count. Just enjoy the cars appropriately and be safe, looks like you were. Enjoy.
Jay I have had this happen to me, and you should see the deflated look on the face of the driver of the modern rocket when you pay them no attention and refuse to engage. I mean, he passed a 24-year-old car. So? There are always drivers out there who will take toolishness to new heights. Enjoy the Countach, clearly you were destined to own one!
Make sure you don't leave the keys in the ignition, you never know what might happen. He drives better than some Kiwi's in New Zealand [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chrzpnL1OEM[/ame]
Thanks Joe! This guy's GTR was incredibly fast, but I was in a car with such style, just so radical looking for its day; and still today, so much better looking. The iconic supercar of the 80's. And as you rightfully say, the ultimate supercar. I love this pic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
In 1975 Car & Driver said words to the effect, you could drive a lifetime in a Countach without noticing any other car. So true.
I absolutely HATE when someone just expects that you will race them or even care what they are driving. Sometimes to add to my lack of interest "in them" i might temporarily pretend to be on the cell phone LOL (which WE all know is ridiculous and impossible to actually do will driving a countach)
Happy and healthy 2013 fellas! May there always be a little oil in your blood, no matter how old we become. Enjoy the miles with lots of smiles. All the best! Jay Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jay what a nice car you have. The Countach is THE car. I'm very happy for you. It is also my childhood and lifelong dream. Congrats!
