Notice the black hood vents on a "Euro" euro car? I wish we could definitively get an answer on this before I paint mine body color. I think mine came black but who knows? This car's vents could also have been painted...

As far as the 308 market goes from what I'm seeing the early cars and the late cars are bringing the biggest dollar. The 84/85's seem to be bringing more than the 83's and I know a lot of people don't agree with this but IMO the b's bring more than the gtsi's.

I thought we already answered this - most of the Euro QVs had body coloured hood vents, but some did come from the factory with black hood vents a la the US spec cars.

My 84 Euro GTS is Rosso Corsa with black hood vents from the factory, and is still original paint.

Not arguing with you Gordon, as I think mine are original too. Still interesting all US cars came with black vents but only some Euros? Wish I had a build sheet on my QV...

There is current discussion regarding the relative rarity of the various 308 subspecies. Below is a sorted breakdown of each one (although dry sump vs wet sump are not subdivided).

It come from the http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/446306-3x8-production-numbers-year-manufacture.html thread, which explains the source and accuracy of the numbers. Although there are identified points of softness, generally there was agreement that the numbers are about right.

So what is the going rate for a lowish mile (25-35k) 84 QV GTS these days? I have read the thread and the prices are all over the place. It is hard to really get any real numbers.

The only real number is the one on the check.
    Everything else is speculation.

My best guess is that you would be out $45k-$65k for one in "average" condition. Rough guess based on what I've been offered for mine recently.

Find me an "average" condition car with no stories for 45-65k and I will buy one tomorrow. Those days are long gone!!

$70k-$75k range. Could be more based on condition.
Low mileage GTS's in excellent condition are getting all the money now.

    Take a look here:

Thanks for the info guys. I have to service my 308 soon and have gotten a huge range of offers, as low as 30k (as a favor since it needs 25k of work) despite the fact that it is driven regularly and put about 1k miles a month for the past few months. There are no comps either.

Some of these dealers really are inflating this market. Ferrari of New England has an 85 gtsi on their website for 129,900. This car was at Forza not too long ago and he was asking less than half of that for it. I'm all for capitalism but inflating prices like this is driving enthusiasts like me out of the market.

Euro 308 GTB QV with 32 000 km just disappeared both from mobile.de and the dealer's web page. Advertised for €115k, but don't know actual selling price.

So, this week we have seen that a nice steel car can out auction a vetroresina? I'm not sure we've seen that before. When it comes to the dry sump cars, perhaps it's as much about condition. Still, I never would have guessed a rare RHD vetroresina would go for less than a steel dry sump...

Maybe these cars have been underestimated for a long time and now it looks strange and weird to all of us to see these prices. We will all get used to the new price adjustment. Same way we did with the Dinos, BBis etc.

When the carb cars flat out, others will follow suit, including all variants from GT4 to 208s. Anyone want to bet?
