North of $80K for a well-above average condition GTS. (Based on a confirmed offer on an '85 for sale locally, with ~20K miles.)

There were two eBay auctions that ended this week. Both were red GTS QVs in what looked like solid, driver condition with mileage in the 50-60k range. These were individual sales where the auctions ran until the end. One FL car, one CA car. Both auctions ended within a few hundred dollars of each other, right around $46k. I would argue that this is probably the current market value of these cars.

No, I wouldn't sell mine for that! ;)

It's the lower mileage cars that are commanding a premium now. There are only so many of them out there. Then things will start to change.

It also has the "late model" steering wheel, so must be one of the last carbed car...I wonder what its chassis number is?

Change in what way- that there'll be more "lower mileage" cars? ;-)

I haven't seen more than a handful of car sold in the past several of years that have verifiably low miles (complete records, inspections, smog certs, or other documents to substantiate what's on the odometer). Anyone can disconnect or roll them back... so I don't think stated miles should have an effect on price unless they're extraordinarily documented low miles cars.

At the end of the day, a well documented 308QV with less than 30k miles, with no stories and all original books and tools will demand a premium. North of $75k. If you hope to find a car like that with less $ good luck to you and let us know.

I am looking at a decent 328. Is this expensive? 250K reserve not met? should that car be driven at all? Why is not that car for sale at $500K?

    Ferrari 328 | eBay

NOTE: If the post sound like a troll, it is. these prices are absurd for a mass produced car regardless of mileage unless it is 0 miles (no driving at all).

He paradox of the ultra low mileage car. You pay a huge premium for a car that can't be used.

Don't know if its a bubble or not but it is illogical.

On "What's My Car Worth?" last night, they featured a 1980 308 GTBi. Gave it a condition 2, but a collectible rating of C (which I thought was low, especially given the prices they threw out).

Owner thought he'd get $80,000, Keith Martin said $70,000 - it hammered at $77,000. At the end of the show, they commented that they thought it was a bit high (I disagreed).

I realize the "i" models are "less desirable", but this was a nice looking GTB in resale red. I don't think $77,000 is far off in today's market.

    Anyway, a data point FWIW.

They grade a lot of cars as B's in terms of collectibility. So with the number of 308s made and many people favoring carbed cars or QVs, I'm not surprised by the early fuel injected car being rated a C.

As far as pricing, about 6 weeks ago or so a local dealer had a GTBi with 27,000 miles listed for $73,800. I thought that was a bit high for an early fuel injected car. Took them a few weeks to sell it, and I don't know the actual selling price, but it did sell.

Didn't see the episode but most of those shows have been taped a while ago before they actually air. I noticed by some prices seeming cheap compared to today.

They made less than 500 of the i model GTB's and are very cool cars. If the car was super clean that sounds to me like a pretty good deal from what I have seen out there and imagine would sell for more today.

I was there and I looked at bidding on that car. It was purchased by a dealer and he has already flipped it for a substantial profit in a group of cars he sold to a client.

Flipped for a substantial profit over $84,700 after costs of transport, flying there to bid, etc...I guess that must be one hell of a GTBi! Or, Mr Next Buyer had to buy it to get something else in the "Package" that he really, really wanted. Our market has indeed gone nuts.

Scary if true - I do believe it was a nice car, and I'm partial to GTBs, but I'm (seriously) starting to think about my '84 QV - it's in good condition, I'm 3rd owner...when I drive it, I'm beginning to worry about it because of the perceived value.

Reminds me of when I had my last Harley (when my youngest child was born)...I had a brief moment of fear, something I never felt in over 30 years of riding a motorcycle / dirt bike...I haven't ridden on the street since.

If the market is beginning to bear 6 figures for a 308, I'm selling...

Please, oh please...not that car again! It has been discussed "at nauseam" in the "328 market" thread, in the "the most expensive 328 ever?" thread and who knows where.
Quick summary: that car was auctioned in March at "auction America" for $ 155.000; it has since then re-appeared on E-bay, someone trying to flip it over for twice the price paid in March. It will also be auctioned again in the coming days.
There are quite a number of very low miles 1989 328 on the market for the time being, there is a 410 kms one for sale for 210.000 euros in Germany right at the minute...

With 7419 cars build: 1344 GTB, 6068 GTS and the unique factory-build cabriolet, I would not call the 328 a mass produced car, you know? XKE Jags are 75.000...

This thread is about 308s. There's a 328 thread a bit further down the list.
