So this week all the Swiss Ferrari Dealerships have a 458 in Rosso Corsa/Tan, probably all the road test cars, Rossa Corsa, errrrr Yawn, BLACK, SILVER OR WHITE please !
Are you going to one of the dealers to check them out? Have a drive and please report back your findings!
We have snow and minus 15 Celcius ! Re the Car configurator for the 458 is it me or is the website completely hopeless with Metallic paint Colors ????? what silver is the 458 earlier in this thread Argent Nurenbourg ?
Doesn't look bad in white at all! It was a good contrast to all the red ones. Enjoy! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They are Cali mirrors, attached is a pic of the 458 mirrors. My guess is that the 458 mirrors were not yet ready for assembly and they used these mirrors for the road test to keep things moving along. After road test and pre-shipment preparation, I would imagine the correct mirrors will have been finished and assembled to the car. You see a lot of strange stuff going on at the factory and on the roads of Maranello. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow! Finally a white 458! Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. I love the design of those wheels but dont like the color at all. It doesnt fit the car well. They should be darker, or black like these: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2655/4008610985_846d97b856.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3505/3914045351_98f93f6054_b.jpg <--- ALERT: VERY HOT CAR
I wouldn't appreciate having the door panels on a brand new car disassembled just to change out "temporary" mirrors.
The white looks kind of stale without a spattering of carbon fiber... I love the scuderia in white with all the CF but the 458 looks too blah.... Add a CF rear segment, mirrors and diffusers and I bet it looks bad arse.................. Tony.............................
That's the same car I saw when I visited the factory. We were told that each of these cars at the end of the assembly line had some problem to be solved. Maybe the white mirrors weren't ready yet.
I guess that some things never change. On my first visit to the factory, in 1982, I saw a number of cars sitting around, missing various body parts, such as front lids and engine compartment lids. It seems a mystery why components that presumably are painted at the same time, for uniformity of color, are not assembled at one time. Perhaps body-color mirrors are an exception, since they are pre-assembled components. Then again, maybe some of the elves knocked off early for Christmas! Fred
I was coming back from a late night in Modena and got back to Maranello around 2:30 am. As I got back into my hotel room, I heard "that sound." I grabbed my camera and took a picture of a 458 with white plastic and black tape all over it. What were they were testing at 2:30 am, I have no idea. Here's the picture.
