I think it was dcmetro who started with the 'black holes' for wheels painted black. The black hides the wheel design and they simply appear as black holes in the side of the car with zero character or style to them.

Not so much black as possibly a very dark Matt grey, and I agree, anything else on that car would look plain wrong but bear in mind the yellow/green elements are so highlighted to differentiate what Aston made whereas all the grey is Newey.

No it it appears to be the same Le Mans blu F12 tdF as in post #3343 which was described by the photographer as Le Mans blu paint. Note how the road is scored with the same straight lines in both pictures.
