I don't think it's Rubino. It could very well be Fuoco, indeed. I think I can see a hint of orange, while Rubino is deeper, close to burgundy. The point is, a single pic with it's particular lighting, angle, treatment, is usually not enough evidence to agree on a precise colour name. Plus, currently there are so many shades of metallic reds available that it's just crazy.
Why? No! 202131 was reported to be "Rosso F1 2007" or "Nuovo Rosso Scuderia" or whatever it's called (apparently both names are ok for the same colour). Seems to be a triple layer paint.
I often confuse the newer metallic reds, so I just want clarification. How is it okay to use both names for the same color? Aren't they two different colors? Does anyone have any pictures of the PPG stickers for these colors?
LaFerrari in yellow looks great: https://www.facebook.com/kenozache.photo/photos/pb.187968741243684.-2207520000.1413921293./772895819417637/?type=3&theater LaFerrari in good company: https://www.facebook.com/AutomotiveVision2014/photos/pb.374057139319862.-2207520000.1413920330./767986179926954/?type=3&theater The man on the right own the LaFerrari and Veyron on this picture. He owns about 30 cars!
Was it introduced as Rosso F1 2007, and then later changed to Nuovo Rosso Scuderia after it was added to the standard color palette?
Apparently both names define the same colour but not 100% sure on the history. As to how is it OK, well... is it OK to give the same s/n to 2 different cars? No, seriously, a member of Fchat has a Scuderia 16M this colour, maybe he can explain more.
LOL, I suppose that depends on who you ask - Ferrari doesn't seem to have a problem with it! Hopefully he can chime and provide more details. I, too, am interested in getting clarification on these colors.
Manus lap at monza was apparently just 10 seconds slower than a 458 evo despite having traffic and not really trying to set a laptime. The laf is seriously quick not just in a straight line but through the corners too
Take a look at this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia/316554-pix-458-nuevo-rosso-scuderia.html Mentioned owner/member is Russell996
As far as I've understood (and seen by myself) Rosso F1 2007 and nuovo rosso scuderia are two different colors. Rosso F1 2007 is the red used on F2007, and nuovo rosso scuderia is the red they are using in F1 since 2008. The 2007 F1 red is darker and has more orange reflections in the sun. Ferrari have so many shades of red available, it's nearly impossible to be able to distingush them all based purely on a picture or first glance. I certainly can't. They are of course technically different, some are of course metallic, triplo strato, and nonmetallic etc. A know a 599 GTO finished in something called Rosso Formula Uno. Same color as one or two 599XX's, #5 being one of them.
I have a question for you.. Why does the structure of vin in LaF change? For example, the unit delivered in Atlanta is ZFF76ZFA6E0204988, but the unit with Monaco plate 6844 is ZFF76ZHB000199508. What is the difference between them?
I believe it's down to US/EU spec. I have a picture of the VIN on the grey Connor car, it has the same precode as the Atlanta car you mentioned. Something for Carbon to answer this one...
Yes, that's a US VIN vs. a EU one. But for ultimate accuracy, the Bible of Ferrari VINs structure is here: Red Headed - VIN Decoder By fellow member Edvar van Daalen.
Sorry to bring this back up, but just had a look and this is one of the two 1:1 scale design proposals they had still in the running for LaF in June 2011. It in turn derived from design proposals model 5 (1:4 - Oct 2010) and model 3 (1:1 - Feb 2011). They were both merged into what Ferrari calls the "definitive concept" one month later in July 2011. It looked surprisingly finished and similar to production spec at this stage, but of course all the real aerodynamic work was still ahead. FWIW they had 9 or 10 1:4 scale design proposals for LaF, at least three of them came from Pininfarina which went through into the penultimate stage of the design concept process (5 1:1 models Feb 2011). The design work on the concepts started ca. June 2010.
Beautiful yellow LaFerrari. Does anybody know what are the yellow 'stamps' in the rear column, after window's end? Indication for what? https://scontent-a-fra.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t31.0-8/10687918_560136764086565_3215185913891611020_o.jpg
It looks really interesting with silver front a black rear wheels. I guess stamp is there because of electric KERS system.
High Voltage Warning. IIRC Toolfan posted that this is one of two Giallo battery test cars zipping around Maranello.
Oh i see. Thank you both. IMHO Giallo Modena LaF looks better with the wheels painted black that silver.
Any pics of the other giallo car besides the one posted above with black mirrors and silver callipers?
