A tad over anxious for sure. Think they struck out 15 times. 😬

What worries me is the excessive celebrating the Cubs did when they beat the Dodgers on Saturday night to advance to the World Series. They were acting like they actually won the World Series.

Like Rome said: "Getting there isn't winning it"

Too much energy and focus on that celebration, IMO.

    Thanks for posting.

I don't really have a dog in this fight...a Cards fan. Cards Cubs is a huge rivalry. May the better team win.

If Chi wins the fans may burn down the city. Stl has more world series than any other NL team. Used to winning. Lol

There is a strip bar in Chicago offering lifetime free lap dances to the Cubs' players if they win the World Series.

I just saw a list of the top 5 hitters so far in the post-season. Significantly, all of them were on teams that have been eliminated.

This just reiterates the old saying about good pitching defeating good hitting. It's safe to say that it's the pitching that got the Indians and Cubs into the World Series.

    Bingo.

That's how I knew the Red Sox wouldn't get past the first round of the playoffs. They didn't win the AL east, they backed into it. Then they have this champagne celebration like they won it. They didn't win crap.

If Bill Belichick was coaching that team they wouldn't have been celebrating that night, they would have taken a very painful trip to the woodshed!

Exactly true. In the postseason, you're no longer fattening up on lesser teams & the weak links in the pens/rotations. Pitching & defense are at a premium...T

True, but winning championships also sells tickets. Unfortunately, only one team can win the championship, and the rest go home to lick their wounds...T

This thread is so quiet for a team in the world series.

So now it's a best-of-five, and now Chicago has the home-field advantage!

    Lol.

That reminded me of how the Carolina Panthers were acting at the Superbowl last year (the 2 weeks leading up to the game) compared to how the Denver team was acting.

One was immature, horsing around, etc while the other was all business....you tell me which team was which ;), and which team won.

The Cubs looked very nervous again tonight. Made errors l never saw them make in the regular season. Cle capitalized on those mistakes.

Cubs had a cake walk in the regular season. So far ahead no pressure. Now it looks to me like they haven't had pressure for so long that the pressure of the ws is just too much for them.

Cle is ahead 3-1. Only have to win one more game. Things look bleak for the Cubs to win three straight.

Game 7! Now we just need extra innings

Hitters and pitchers can always get hot or cold but fielding is constant and cubs are great fielders so I will pick cubs to win it all.

And tonight, everyone will play, since there's no tomorrow. I can see erstwhile starters coming in to do relief, and some pitchers will be brought in to face one batter only. With all the inevitable pitching changes (and pinch-hitters as well), this could well be another 4-hour game.

And whoever wins or loses, I hope that the police departments in both cities are ready for thousands of people in the streets. Problem is, those of the losing team might wind up rioting. (For that matter, the celebrants of the winning team might wind up rioting!)

With the Cubs they can plan on millions in the streets :) I am a White Sox fan first, but I also like the Cub's. Some of the Cub fans in Chicago act like they have been winning for 108 years, not losing.

Go Cubbies...Could be the most viewed World Series game ever.

I heard game 6 viewership was only a 15 share. this one should be highest baseball ratings ever though. I expect a great game. my prediction is whoever scores first wins
