A lovely fellow decided to rear end the 550 and could not wait for the paperwork to be filled out so he drove off Starsky and Hutch style.

Is the rear fascia a plastic moulding or a glass fibre contstruction?

Condolences Michel; I thought incidents like that only happened in the US...... He probably saw the Ferrari inscription on the rear and knew he was in waaaaaaay over his head and took off. Probably was uninsured or underinsured too.......

My gut tells me the rear is fiberglass like the front, but let's hear what others say.

Thank you for the sympathy. It happend in the UK on my way from Goodwood. I still think it was a car jacking attempt but Brightons finest did not.

I looked like fibreglass but I never saw fibreglass that well bonded and that well finished on the inside.

It's fiberglass. It can be repaired or you can buy a new one (there's a shop in London that makes them) or a salvaged one. Check for damage to the mounts and to your exhaust.

Thank you. Can you point me to the shop in London?
I suppose you are referring to Eurospares when it comes to second hand.

any shop that does fiberglass work can repair it...... your only issue is that the quality of the work and paint will likely exceed that of the factory
