    Found this on another forum:

"My good friend got a call from North American Lambo the other day. They told him a new car would be unveiled to a very select group at the Pebble Beach Concours(No Cameras). They gave him no specifics other than it 1.5 million, 20 will be made with 15 comming to the US, and the public will get to see the car at the Frankfurt Auto Show. He gave them a $100K refundable deposit."

LOL. I love the specificity of detail:

    - No Cameras.
    - $1.5 million dollars.
    - Just 20 to be manufactured.
    - 15 to be supplied to the USA.
    - $100k deposits already being accepted by "North American Lambo".

Methinks the only detail that might be correct is that a special Lamborghini will be unveiled at Pebble Beach on next week...

How? As far as I've heard it, Audi and Winkelmann decided they would not build the car.

@ Joe, that wouldn't be that new Murcielago that was seen running around the 'Ring, would it?

This may be true. A friend of mine here in Florida said that he was "invited" to place a $100K deposit on this $1.5M car. I believe the number were 15 to be built worldwide and 10 coming to the US. If they gave him any information on the car he did not disclose it. So there seems to be sosme truth to this story! BTW, if your one of the "select" group to gete that phone call I imagine it would do wonders for your ego! He placed the deposit.

There is a Lamborghini (prototype or concept) coming to Pebble Beach. That part of the story is true.

    The rest....

Lets just give things a little time before we jump on the speculation bandwagon, shall we?

    Yes very good news...

The car will first arrive at an airport in South Cali, where Audi have a current hanger for "other" test cars coming in for the show...approx 1 week prior. It will then be trucked up to the show. There is also another "suprise" in the making...I cant not reveal or my sources would "skin" me alive!!

Does anyone know when the buyers are supposed to be getting their cars?

It's not late '08 or '09, is it?

    Just wondering. . . :)

edit -I see two of us were wondering the same thing at the same time. :)

It's gotta be a Veyron with Lambo (plastic) badges and an updated body kit to make it more outrageous looking than an insect.

I really don't have a clue, but, no way it's some totally new car, just a gimmick to move some Veyrons.

I think you may have posted the same thing on ********** -interesting guess-
but esssentially that would be a whole new model an that have to make more than a dozen or so

for $1.65M they couldn't justify a special edition Murci for that - maybe a race version possibly

hmmmm..... My guess is whatever the produce - that particular version will be limitted - and whatever the public reaction is
they may produce more- just a slightly altered version of what was sold for $1.6M

Does it say if it will be road legal? That would help answer a lot of questions

That's what I want to know too. Seems the 'hip' thing to do lately. FXX, MC12 Corse, Zonda R... All very limited production, >$1mil non road legal cars...
