Very cool, thanks David. I travel to a lot of places, so hopefully I'll end up there at some point. Chris

I am pretty sure the owner of the black Silhouette (still with him) also owned the black SV on the flatbed ahead of him. Note the LCUK sticker.
IMHO this is the BEST looking factory seats (non-recaro or other makers) ever fitted into a sportscar: http://s3.amazonaws.com/ecl-photos/Cv/qI/CE/xH/A9/gj/i4/9l/v1/Mp/jg_800.jpg http://s3.amazonaws.com/ecl-photos/F5/sd/xo/HS/Fl/G2/Ut/Jd/Dm/Rh/jA_800.jpg Is it comfortable as well ? PS: Thanks Roy Cats for the pic
That's my car! Yes, the seats are pretty comfortable for me (I am about 5'9). I think they look even better with the original central stripes - mine was retrimmed at some point in its past life but eventually I hope to put it back to original style and materials. Jonathan
Do you know when/where the last picture was taken? Was this during the Murciélago launch in 2001? Any details about the car? Is it the German car with dealer plates from Münich area?
Good turnout of cars and spectators today at Chelsea Autolegends today in London. I (well, my car) was asked to be part of the "customers' classics" display by HR Owen, the leading dealership for high-end marques. They had planned to put a Bugatti EB110 on the podium but it didn't have enough clearance to get up the ramps. Much to my surprise they asked me to put #40052 up instead, and after a tense few moments of clutch control it was in place. The distinguished company included many fine Ferraris (250MM, 365GTB/4 Competizione, 288GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo) and Maseratis (250F, Tipo 61 Birdcage and MC12). More photos here: https://picasaweb.google.com/JonathanElstein/20120902?authkey=Gv1sRgCImQkY6z-f6N2QE&feat=email# Elsewhere on display were a number of Aventadors, a smattering of Gallardos and Murcielagos, a Miura S, Jarama S and of course P300V8's Silhouette, resplendent with new dash. This 1/43 DTD model of the Silhouette Snorkel prototype has just sold on eBay for Euro 126. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221135579669?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 According to what I discovered on the web "Dieter Terbeck of Switzerland has a real enthusiasm for the old classic cars, and several years ago he determined to make prototypes that had never been modeled before. He's a one-man shop, and he only makes a few of each model; in some cases, the models are one-offs. His work is very artisanal and handmade. He ingeniously uses bits of scrap, wires, even cardboard for pieces. Sometimes his paint finish is not so good." Judging by the interior I suspect this might be a modified Minichamps Silhouette. To my eyes the wheel arches and the snorkel are not true to the original. Although I have only seen B&W pics of this car I was under the impression it was red - perhaps because the Yow Modellini 1/43 is red. Does anyone know the correct colour?
That model was a one off but Yow Modellini do a kit. They say they offer a construction service though at what cost I know not. They also have kits for the two Urraco concept cars, the Jalpa proto and the Jalpa Spider.
Paul and Ivor, try to send a PM to Jasperlambo who is here on this forum. He has good connections with Yow Modellini. Btw, some of the DTD models Lamborghini`s that were/was on ebay are not the best looking/built. But some how he get some good prices when he sells them.
I know Dieter for years, before he did a lot of bugattis (I have some from him in my collection). That Silhouette is based on the Minichamps Model, I initially thought it could the the Alezan kit.
I once bought a creation of DTD on ebay. quality was horrible his main buyer is always the same (anonymous) guy who must have a lot of money and a not too high standard for his models... This is the Yow Modellini kit. As you can see I built it in black, as I always thought it was black. I have email confirmation from Valentino Balboni (who drove the thing at the time) for black color as well. I think Yow has some (2?) kits available. His build prices are quite high and I upgraded my model with Minichamps wheels. PM's welcomed Image Unavailable, Please Login
