Super nice. A complete different beast from 458 Challenge car.
Yes, it is a factory race car. FIA GT3. FIA-GT cars will be built by Michelotto Automobili in Padova. Since 1969 Michelotto is in charge of building GT cars for Ferrari. Michelotto automobili Progettazione, realizzazione e collaudo vetture stradali, prototipo e da competizione The Homepage is a bit outdated but doesn't matter. The company is led by Cristiano Michelotto, 41, son of founder Giuliano Michelotto. Cristiano used to work in the states before taking over fathers famous company. It takes around 3 weeks to build a GT3 car. The work is done by 2 mechanics per car. Here is a link with the pics-history of building my car during the 3 weeks. Hanspeter Strehler Motorsport I was in Padova 2 days during the 1st week, 2 days during the second and the entire 3rd week as at the end of this, the shakedown took place. Normally the shakedown/delivery take place exclusively at Fiorano .... but unfortunately when my day has come (1st March 2013) there was still snow in Fiorano and so we had to shakedown the car at Adria Raceway. Here are the pics of my shakedown with Pierre Kaffer Hanspeter Strehler Motorsport One of the very Special Features of my car is that it is worldwide the only GT3 in "Rosso Marlboro", normally the cars are painted in rosso corsa or rosso scuderia. The interior is silver and not black as the others have......... silver is the interior colour of the GT2 cars and I wanted to have it similar. ... like my steering wheel, which is from the GT2 and not GT3. The difference is: carbon not alloy, turning paddle-shifts and not fixed ones...... so long ..... regards Hanspeter
Hello Hanspeter Amazing Car, congratulations! My favorite color and I really like your color combination, very classic. Will you be in Misano next week? I will be there with ESC and my GT3 Scuderia.
Hello No I won't be there. I try to attend the Hocki trackday ==> 18. & 19. September. have fund, regards HP
I was told a few days ago that Ferrari Challenge starting next year, will require all Challenge 458s install a rear wing and a new front splitter and for us to plan on racing the 458 until 2016.
We should learn more at Mosport this weekend. They are bringing out an "Evo" kit (it's called 458 Challenge Evo). There are some images floating around. According to the plan I saw, Evo cars will run alongside a "stock" 458C until the next gen car is out. Looks a bit like 458GA In 2014 they are also mandating upgraded/"halo" seats, which I think is a good safety move, as well as internal nets.
