Same sort of vehicle really. JEEP became a brand name well after WWII; until then it was called a Willys. The Alfa Matta was also a "general purpose" vehicle, and therefore a Jeep. But European had no chance selling home made 4x4 when the Allies abandoned so many alongside the roads. Broken down Jeeps and GMC trucks littered France, Italy after the invasion and could be "liberated" for next to nothing.
Considering the Willys was sometimes nicknamed "kidney buster", calling the Italian equivalent "Mad Woman" might say something about dating Italian women.
