    I hate to be the bearer of bad news that potentially gives rise to speculation, but at this juncture, what is reported from AP reads as follows;
    Client, Instructor Die in Lamborghini Crash at Vegas Track | KXNT 840 AM « CBS Las Vegas

    LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say two men have died at a racetrack in Las Vegas after a Lamborghini crashed and burst into flames.

    Las Vegas police Sgt. Steve Summers says a man was driving with an instructor in the passenger seat at SpeedVegas when the vehicle crashed Sunday.

    The car drove off the track and spun into a concrete barrier lined with tires before erupting into flames.

    Police say the two men, who have not yet been identified, were killed on impact.

    The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

    SpeedVegas CEO Aaron Fessler says the company is cooperating with investigators.

    Sounds like Paul Walker in his Carrera GT. I guess we now know why Lamborghini is recalling all those cars for fires hazards!

    because some guy off the street with presumably zero experience in a supercar paid a few hundred bucks to over cook a corner and slam into a concrete barricade?

    That's exactly what happened from what I am reading. Most likely driver error despite the use of a "street" set-up Huracan.

    They're saying it was their Aventador, not a Huracan.

    The track and company are reopening this coming week after a one week voluntary shut down

    But State OSHA officials are looking into what happened. There still may be repercussions.

    Strange. They didn't have one, not even on their site. Very strange.

    The recall has nothing to do with Aventadors crashing.

    I also heard that they were running the track in the reverse direction which can have an affect on safety barrier placement in the event of a crash. There might be a lot of "wrong" to go around in this one. Speculation on my part in this case but this topic has come up at track events.
