Replaced the boot rubber on the 328
Today, I had my four brand new tires mounted and balance Sumitomo HTR Z-III 225-45-17 Fronts and 255-40-17 Rears. Evacuate and recharged my AC 134A and it's cold with a big help from A good friend Gareth, thanks Gareth! Replaced water pump/alternator belts.
First time out taking the 308, Houston Cars & Coffee. Met a couple of cool guys from FChat but not too many older Ferraris. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Went for a drive today, including the Arden Valley Road (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arden_Valley_Road). The 308 is a great chassis/engine combination for these roads. I've driven cars with more power and more grip around here and not been able to get a good rhythm. They end up being too much car for the roads around here. No such problem with the 308, getting a rhythm between power, brake and steering quickly becomes completely engrossing. The ability to lean on front and rear tires independently and feel what everything doing all the time is totally addictive. Gratuitous 308 photo since I did not take one during the drive: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Moved it out of the garage to plastidip my daughter's fit.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A drive on the Sea to Sky Highway to look at a friend's recently acquired '35 Olds business coupe - survivor. He is an F-Chat member (a 348) and reminds us that "car guys are car guys regardless what they're driving today." Yeah, the Olds is a cool car.
Just picked her up from Vinny @ autoelite. The clamps holding on the recently replaced braided hose didn't do the job on the breather nips on the top of the tank. So he replaced the hoses & clamps (had to cut the hoses not to damage the nips). Alternator checked out fine, so this weekend its hunt down every ground wire I can find & clean it. A/C belt is still clicking. Tightening didn't help. It'll get replaced over winter. But here in NNJ it's 95 hot & all the way home she was running a little too hot for my tastes. Normally while moving, she's where she belongs.
I am Soooooo glad I don't have a young girl to raise. You just might start a trend at the local HS. Who has that pic of the Hello Kitty TR ?
Wired in an easily accessible from outside the car, battery tender connector when i replaced the battery. Doug
I ordered QA1 shocks/spring set up for my 308 the other day!! Been wanting to do this for a LONG time...
350/400 I am so psyched. I wanted to do all new A-arm bushings at the same time, but don't think I'll get that in this year. Still, this will be huge as my car has 70,000 miles, so on top of this being a great set up, my shocks/springs are probably pretty tired.
Sent the QV to the local dealer to get it ready for display in the showroom for a week along with the new 488 demo car.
Just got her back from Massimo @ItalTech GT after some major service. Clutch, water pump, thermostat, hoses, cam seals, valve adjustment. Gave me some time to clean out the engine bay. Massimo did the intake and the valve covers and they look terrific! Car runs like a top after many years of neglect. Still more to do. Isn't there always.....I'll get to it after I drive it for awhile. Image Unavailable, Please Login
