Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bardor paint and/or repaint all of his cars silver because of some superstition?
Both of these cars have extraordinary histories - and one of them is currently for sale.

This F40 is not Swatters blue. Swatters blue is much darker, darker than TDF.

The 288GTO does look fantastic in Yellow. Outstanding information guys.

This is the first time that I've ever seen the GTO in yellow. It looks nice.

This color is just lovely :)

I should have read the title carefully rather than assume we were speaking only about 47649.

At least TWO yellow 288 GTOs exist. The other one I know of is 54215, owned by a Japanese gentleman, this information & image supplied to my 288 GTO thread some 3 years ago by the one-and-only Marcel Massini. I believe the car was/is owned by a gentleman named Maruyama. ZFFPA16B000054215 was fitted with factory AC, all-black interior VM8500, originally owned by Reinhard Ehlich in Germany registered ME.04820. It started life as a typical red 288 GTO, like they all did.

I am not certain when it was re-painted yellow or by whom.

    Hi,
If it started out red, then it's still 'red' in my book.
How many had yellow as their first colour? Any other 288's with 'special' colours?

How does a full color change affect the 288 GTO's value?

It depends on two things: who did it, and when it was done.

I'd say that's a replica. Proportions are way off, to me, the whole car but especially the back is too long, back windows are wrong, and the pillar too. Wheels are the wrong tyoe, as the back wheels aren't recessed on the real GTO's, but wheels can be changed on cars... Also the front looks like it was just extended to hide the regular 308 plastic bumper lip. And the fact it's yellow also helps weigh on the replica side...
