Jason, I know the 430 is getting to be older technology, but how does it compare to the new 911's you are racing?

A few differences are the new transmissions shift much faster, when I watch the video the 430 seems to shift very quickly...but compared to the new systems it is slower by a bit. The 430 does not make a ton of torque (310-320rwtq) where the current GT cars are delivering a bit more making throttle control a higher priority. As far as handling the 430 is still very good especially with the updated aero kit...we were experiencing some understeer at Sebring and have a plan to engineer some of that out. The ABS system when used correctly is very effective even compared to current systems. Newer ABS systems are a bit more seamless in activation, but I find the braking and ABS capability of the 430 to be quite good. Over all the Ferrari's are a bit more well behaved than the 911's due to the wide front track and mid-engine characteristics...the 911 tends to require a bit more from the driver to get the lap time out of it. All in all both great cars where you always see the evolution of technology continue to raise the bar, either of them provide smiles for miles on any given day. I did do a few laps in a Rob Cohen's 355 Challenge as well, now that is a much more manual experience that requires the driver to a bit more physical with the car to produce a lap time. The handling, stability and overall drive of a 355 feels 30yrs behind a 430. Lap time wise the 430 did a 2:11.xxx and the 355 did a 2:19.xxx.

Ron is focusing on USLED right now as it is growing internationally. He really wants to be back, but has decided he must be responsible to his company during this growth phase. Hope to see him back at the track next year.

2:19 in Rob's 355? Wow!!! Fastest I've seen 355's is 2:24-25. I figure you would be a couple seconds up on us amateurs, but over 5!?!
