NJMP Track event announcement

The annual Delaware Region PCA NJMP Thunderbolt track event is now open for registration. This is our 8th year hosting this event. Our goal has always been to be the best DE event you’ll attend this year. Our event runs for 3 days, Friday Oct 2nd to Sunday Oct 4th.

Once again, we have held the line on pricing with no price increases.

If you have run with us in the past you know that we do Fun DE’s with loads of track time, premium instructors and tons of perks. Last year we sold out our event and at this point, we’re over 50% sold.

Let’s talk about track time. If you are an instructor or a qualified solo driver, you can participate on our Friday track day. We run 2 groups – Red/Black/Instructors with Extended passing (anywhere with a point-by) and White/Solo/those who want a more structured passing environment. We do 30 minute sessions, throw the checker and send the next group out. We do this all day long with a break for the corner workers at lunch. If you do all your sessions you can have up to 4 hours of track time just on Friday.

We do this to give our instructor corps plenty of time to have fun and scratch that track itch. So when the weekend rolls around they’re fresh and eager to work with their students. They don’t feel the burning need to rush off to get “their track time” and are willing to spend that extra time with the students. And our students agree, they always rave about our instructors. And instructors still get their full normal 4 runs a day during the weekend. If you are qualified solo driver, you get to tag along. It’s a Win-Win for everybody.

And before anybody asks, Friday is only included with a 3 day package, it is not offered separately. It’s for our instructors remember.

And for instructors, it is only $200 for all 3 days, or $100 for Sat/Sun. If you sign up now, you don’t have to pay until 30 days before the event.

And as they say on late night TV, plus there’s more.

We’re having a Pig Roast and Chicken BBQ by the NJMP Pool at the Member’s club house on Saturday evening. We had one last year and everybody loved it. If it’s too cold to go swimming – October could be cool or warm, who knows? – we’ll move the dinner into the Officer’s Club.

Friday evening we’ll have a Happy Hour put on by our sponsor, Porsche of Delaware.

The event is open to all Marques, not just Porsches. You don’t have to be a PCA member, though we’ll be happy to sign you up.
NJMP is a fantastic facility with on-site garages, electricity in the paddock, lodging and dining. There is also a nice karting facility. The town of Millville is just outside with lots of dining, a fine arts district, an Air Museum, plenty of lodging and more.
