Glorious sunshine bathed Corn Street in the Old City area of Bristol today as all things Italian, on two wheels and four gathered for the annual Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival.

20 Ferraris lined up ranging from a pair of 246 GT Dinos through various 308, 328,348, 355 & 360 variations. Sadly, none of the current Maranello line-up were on display, the most modern tipo being a 575 Maranello.
Dick Lovett Cardiff, unfortunately no longer selling new Ferraris, were present promoting the excellent work they conduct as a service centre.
Over 200 motorcylces from Benelli and Ducati to Lambretta and Vespa providing an eclectic mix.

One of the prettiest cars on display was the Vignale bodied Triumph TR3A, one of only 329 built, one of only 40 believed to still exist, and one of two in the UK.

Thank you for posting all those nice pictures!

I spotted an yellow Ghilbli II in one of the pictures, but surely there were a few more Maseratis in Bristol for the event?!

    Cheers,
    Gabriel

Maserati were well represented in number, but not really in quality.
There were a dozen 3200 GTs, two Quattroportes, the aforementioned Ghilbi and this 420i from 1986 was the oldest example on display.

Paul - I was down on the list to attend in the Stradale, but the 'organisers' then removed my offer to display due to scaffolding! Think it's a poor show when they even charge £5 to display your own motor.

Very nice to see (what seems to be...) a well kept four-door biturbo. Thanks for posting.

    Nice pictures folks!

OK Tommo. you had applied within the last few weeks prior to the event but had not paid your fiver. When I discovered about the scaffolding (no prior warning from the council!) I had to do a review and found that due to the spaces lost we were in fact over subscribed. I therefore had to decline with regret the half dozen or so entrants who had failed to pay. I did explain that this was due to the scaffold, which was beyond our control. As it was, all the streets were very full, just a few places left and had everyone turned up there would have been about 20 cars with no places. If you want to be sure of a place please apply in January! We are usually full by early / mid March but this year was a bit slower, presumably due to the recession.

We had to introduce the entry charge becase we cannot afford to subsidise the event any more. The public liability insurance, printing and posting costs several hundred pounds. All surpluses will be forwarded to Help For Heroes. Suerly a fiver is nothing compared to the cost of Ferrari ownership? Its less than what will we all be paying at other events throughout the year.
    Cheers,
    PH

I just thought you would like to know that as a result of the bucket collection on the day and the surplus from the entry fees we have raised £500 for the charity Help For Heroes.
An interestin article on the Festival may be found here (although a bit down-beat about the Ferraris). http://www.dep-o.co.uk/page1.asp
