Going through the dates in the diary. Anyone going, I always go. I leave about 6:15am, always a good run... Regards, Richard
Very tempted. I went on the Italian Sunday last year and went down with a bunch of cars organised by my local dealership. Absolute blast getting down there.
I'll be there Rich, Make sure you book online, otherwise its a swapy feild across the road for all! Event numbers are down this year? Possibly why there's no Italian Sunday?
Hi Darren, Already registered for all the breakfast meets I want to go to What car are you going to be bringing? Regards, Rich
Hi Rich, I don't have anything that meets the theme, lots of stuff in pieces and my 330 is years away from the road, so I will just probably take the bus or bicycle there this year.
Hi Rich, You can follow my restoration thread in the Vintage section on Ferrarichat under the "330GT 2+2 Parts Wanted" title. Please leave any comments there, I don't want to hijack this Goodwood Thread. Cheers
I'm going in my 355. I go through Lewis and along through arundel. Anyone want to meet en route? Lewis tunnel is a blast!!
Can someone please advise me where non-supercars will park? How far from the circuit? What time should one aim to arrive (do not wish to queue)? Many thanks, Paul
I believe you'll get to park in Hampshire (or maybe on the Isle of Wight) and should arrive about an hour before doors open so as to have time to get back to the circuit before the main cars arrive !
Probably in the fields across the road same as the Revival. I've never noticed much of a queue for the non theme cars which in the past have formed a very long queue to get in. They seemed to address that last year with the theme cars entering and queuing on the circuit see how it goes there this year. Recommend being there for 7:00am that's what I'm aiming for or just after.
I registered weeks ago Haven't even had the courtesy of a yes or no. Sod them. I'm going to Brands Hatch instead
Really good day, not been to one of these events before and was amazed by the volume of cars there, the definition of 'supercar' was a little stretched by a few (MR2) as well as a few kit cars. Of note there were a pair of McLaren F1s, three 458 Speciale, two 16Ms, two 599 GTOs, a solitary Enzo, handful of F40s, a trio of Daytonas, 250 GT Lusso, 275 GTB, three or four Challenge Stradales, several F12s. Weather was kind too. Followed the Enzo for ten or so miles on the M27 which was a nice sight and sound even at legal speeds. Pics to follow soon. Paul
It was a good turn out although it was very packed with people mid way through the event. Great to travel down in Convoy with Richjar and to meet Darren C. Great to meet with you Matt & Richjar. Your Daytona looks stunning! I stayed until well into the afternoon (didn't fancy sitting in a queue to get out). Right at the end of the event a chap turned up in a gorgeous 275 and parked up behind me. Chatting with him, I found out it was the ex-Eric Clapton 275, once silver but now blue? The car was blue with tan interior sporting spoked Borrani's. Is this really now the Clapton car that was originally silver with black interior on alloys? The paint and trim looked fresh on this car.
My Dad owned a 275 4 Cam back in the early eighties, it has been first owned by either Clapton or his manager (not sure which) It was green when he owned it but was later repainted silver. Dad sold it for £25k which shows how long ago it was!
Paul, Peoples (Goodwood's) definitions of title events are always different. It was disappointing to see normal cars or things that are not that special there, but a pleasure to see nice Supercars. The November theme is "V" engine cars, so it is pretty much anything. I think it gets busier
Was there any talk at the Breakfast Club about a GRRC Members Meeting in 2015....prossible dates, etc? Thanks. Jack
