Wasted many an evening in their cocktail bar......

Very good restaurant at the back : Locanda Locatelli - and Galvin just the other side of the square and up a bit

It might be worth a quick search for other hotels in this section in case something else comes up & appeals

Never stayed there but been past many times. Good, central and busy location. Easy to get to the main places for sights and shopping. Hope that helps!

i live around the corner from there.
    i would avoid it.
try the millennium at Grosvenor sq or the Connaught on mount st.
Both marriotts on park lane are better than the church hill tbh and imho.
the intercon at hyde park corner is also very good.
and the four seasons across from there the best.

If it's convenient and within your budget, you should consider staying at one of the "landmark" London hotels, rather than one associated with a large chain.

There's a pretty good recap here. Scroll down to see a list of 5 stars.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotels_in_London

From my own experience I can recommend Brown's, Claridge's, Savoy, Ritz and Dorchester. They are in different neighborhoods, each of which has its own personality. I defer to our members in the area who have far more recent firsthand knowledge than I.

    Have a great time!

Thank you all the the replies. I just discovered I have enough Hyatt points to stay at the Churchill Hyatt for free. Free is my favorite kind of hotel so it looks like this is where we'll stay. I'm going to start another thread looking for sightseeing suggestions.
    Thanks again.
