Hi guys, Im new to this world and wanted to know if any Ferrari owners in the south west meet up for drives out or anything else? Would be great to touch base with owners in the area. Many thanks.

My car is north of Taunton with my father. Being in the far east I only get to use it 2-3 times a year but if there is ever any overlap with an event in the UK I'm definitely up for it.

What model do you have? Mines 308GT4 1978 silver.

    Cheers

Nice looking car Mark! I am just repainting mine the same colour and I'm interested to see that you don't have the Designo di Bertone badge on the right hand side. Does that mean it's on the left? Mine was originally on the left but when I first had it painted 25 years or so ago I moved to the right because that where everyone else's seemed to be! maybe I should move it back!

I also going back to paint colour on the sills (rather than black) and wonder if there should be any clear stonechip coating there?

Thanks Patrick. Mine was originally 70's gold! I would love to put it back to original spec one day but the bodywork/paint right now is not bad so I don't want to re-do just yet.
I think mine has the body colour paint over a stone chip material on the sills but to be honest I can't remember and I'm not in the UK. Those badges seem to hop around all over the place but as far as I can tell mine has always been on the LHS. The rear badges seem to be inconsistent too - from the cars I have seen. Some with horse some not and some without the boot badge etc etc Every one is unique!

They never had horses or Ferrari badges on the rear when they left the factory. Just Dino308gt4 on the boot lid, a yellow Ferrari or Dino badge on the front, and a Bertone badge on the side. The wheel centres and steering wheel horn badges should match the front badge (either Ferrari or Dino) and are only Dino on the early cars. Mine is 12842/1976 manufacture and definitely never had Dino badges although it does have the Dino style wheels.

    Hi Jeeves....

Keep in touch, as I have just ordered a 488gtb my first Ferrari since I got rid of my GT4 about 20 years ago.

It's not due for a few months but will be looking for some people to go on a drive out with, as I don't know any other owners and none of my friends have a motor like these.

I live midway between Exeter and Barnstaple

    Regards

    Michael

    Hi Clark

Great to know that there are some other owners nearby.

I have ordered my car but it doesn't turn up until next year, but when it does it would be great to go on some drives out if you would like?

    Regards

    Michael

    Here you go:

    Hi Everyone

Eager to try and fit another outdoor event in whilst we can, I am organising an autumn ‘Drive Out’ on Saturday 22nd October.

Starting from Exeter at Midday, the proposed route is to drive to the Fox and Hounds Country Hotel, Eggesford on the A377 for lunch and then to carry on to Barnstable before looping back to Exeter via the A39 to Bideford, A389 to Great Torrington, A3124 to the A30 via Winkleigh and back to Exeter. Feel free to join or peel off from the convoy, anywhere along the way.

The muster point will be at Ftech Engineering, Marsh Barton, Exeter who are independent Ferrari Specialists and are holding a morning ‘ Free Health Check Clinic’ from 8.30am for anyone who is interested in taking advantage before the drive out. Coffee, pastries and bacon rolls will be in plentiful supply until 11.30am. Please ring them on 01392 829599 to book a health check if you’re interested but bear in mind that we will leave at 12 o’clock prompt.

It would be good if you could drop me an email if you will be coming just so I get an idea of numbers but if you’re undecided until the day, that’s fine, just turn up because at least one Ferrari will be going………mine !!!

    Kind regards

    Tim
