Cool. How did you get the test done? Or what service? (and weren't you claiming part Native American? perhaps a sliver on the pie chart..) Matt
this is Ancestry DNA. Only about $100 and takes a couple months, very easy to do from home (spit). There are more details than what I posted and it links to you hundreds of other Ancestry users telling you if likely 2nd cousin, 4th cousin etc. so here is the interesting thing mom and I are trying to figure out. I am supposed to be 1/8th Choctaw and 1/8th or 1/16th German. No native american showed up at all, but friend said Ancestry DNA not great at identifying and suggested another company. Only 1-2% showed up German and that was loosely grouped with all western Europe France/Switzerland etc. Maybe my mom has some explaining to do. my dad and several of my half siblings from dad are very dark skinned and black Indian like hair. I'm brown haired blue eyed pale skin.
Hmmm.... Do you look a little like the mailman at the time? The milkman? What was the more accurate company your friend recommended? Matt
for Native American 23andme. haven't looked into it yet. I'm trying to talk one of my 5 halves from dad to do it too seeing if Native shows up. I'm mom's only.
Bear in mind that your wonderful Offspring showed "4 others" though you show "5 others" - If you roll that back to your Mother, and all else being equal with your Father, She may show "(X amount of) others", including Choctaw. via Tapatalk
the others were identified in list chart, not the pie chart, they went down to even traces. 100% of mine were European. now Mia had trace from Asia, we'll have to do Jennie to see on that.
58 % GB - does that mean we Brits have to be polite to you now you've shown you're really one of us !!!
