Just starting demolition of the old gameroom. I'll post some pics as the work progresses over the next couple weeks. Should be epic.

Started with a 20k budget but the AV gear blew through that pretty quickly.

Any do's/dont's from fellow gamers much appreciated.

Very interested to see how this turns out. I have a small game room that I wish to make into something grand one day.

Thats basically what I am doing as well. Its a small room so I'm trying to maximize the space and experience.

The gear is still tricking in, should be ready to install in a couple weeks.

How big is the room? And can you do a panoramic picture?

Still seeking ideas. Dig the color so far.

Its only 14x16 but due to some weird spaces its more like 11x14. But you'll see that won't matter much.

    Screen is up!

Colors appear off (probably my crappy camera). The room is not green, its gray. The back wall is black. The screen is also black.

Tomorrow I'll position the speakers a bit wider and then start tuning!

Very nice! What is that on top of the speaker to the left? It looks like a tweeter but there isn't one on the right also?

And is that a screen for a projector? Or a big LCD tv?

On top of the speaker is a set of MW2 night vision goggles. They work well, but I just use them for display.

The screen is for a JVC 4K projector. I played Halo4 last night and the picture is stunning. It looks almost as good on the 110 as it did on the 60" sharp elite (which is the best picture I've ever seen), and the projector hasn't even been calibrated yet.

    Nice! Screen dimensions?

I thought I had a pretty hot gaming setup with new 24" Samsung LED TV and Creative desktop speaker system...reality adjustment!

Screen is 110" but for the most part its all relative to your seating position. If you're sitting a foot or two away then 24" is probably fine. I'm 10' back from mine.

TV serves as desktop monitor and gaming screen - a huge improvement in size and performance over previous 10 year old flatscreen monitor and entirely satisfactory for me. But I do get a kick out of seeing all-the-way setups such as yours. :)

I'm running focal 816s for mains, their 800 for a center and their domes as rear channels. I used to run just the domes for my mains at one time, they are amazing for their size.

For subs I'm running JL Audio fathom 112s. Two of those...

Still calibrating things, the pioneer elite receiver makes it easy with its graphical on screen configuration and automatic room eq sampling. You make your adjustments dynaimcally using an ipad app.

You might recognize the equipment rack, Its from home depot. Its an adjustable wire rack, on casters, for about $100. Sure beats the high end rack I used to have. I like it because I can just wheel it out of the closet to get to the rear connections.

Spent countless hours diagnosing an HDMI issue, apparently NVIDIA drivers don't like Pioneer receivers. I can get picture but no sound. Huge thanks to the guys at OriginPC for figuring it out. I'll need to send audio over optical and video over HDMI, so a bit more cabling is needed at the moment.

OriginPC running Windows 7, Corsair case w/ Metallic finish
    Intel Extreme Edition Core i7 3970X 3.5GHz/4.0GHz Turbo Hex-Core
    Red lighting
    Frostbyte liquid cooling
    1050 Watt power supply
Dual 4GB Nvidia GTX 680 GPUs in SLI configuration
512GB SSD drive an 1TB SATA drive
tons of memory, hd audio, etc.
