I wish there was a game like this for PC. Open world map, real cars as in Forza, decent physics (i.e. not TDU boat/plane physics). Even a port of Forza Horizon 2 would do. One day...
Looks like like H 2 will be much improved over the first one. The latest IGN article goes in depth and already reveals a lot about the game. Most note worthy for me is they are making it a true open world and you will be able to drive anywhere a car can go. Day / night / weather will be nice and they say it will take at least 100 hours to complete all the stuff to do. The map is three times the size of Horizon 1. They said you will be able to plot a location on the map and then race your friends to it. What makes this fun is you now have the option to take the roads or go cross country. My sister and I used to do this in TDU2. We would get up somewhere elevated, point out something far off in the distance and then race to it. It was loads of fun especially if you have a car suitable for off road. They also mention something about how you can drive down the road and see another car parked and get out of yours and get in the other. While it may be part of a mission I'm wondering if you will be able to get out of your car and walk around. They also mention car meets where you can check out other cars so being able to walk around would be nice. One of my favorite features of TDU2 was having a house to put all your cars in. I hate just picking a car from a menu to get in. Much more fun to go in a personal garage, admire your collection and then drive off your property. I hope Horizon heads in that direction. I believe that because this game is based on public roads they won't put in any real race cars like the E21 and keep most if not all of them street legal. That's so stupid. If they already digitized the cars for Forza 5... why would they not be copy/pasted into Horizon 2 ??? Adding them as a DLC is just a greedy cash grab. As to race cars in road game... it IS a video game after all...

Annoying how they try to generate excitement around cars that were all in Forza Motorsport 5.... Horizon 2 should be just all those ones... then announce what's actually new.
Played the demo last night and it was a lot of fun. The demo doesn't save your progress so if you quit you have to start over from the very beginning but you can replay all the challenges as many times as you want while in the demo so you could easily spend a few hours. The demo is really well done and gives you a lot to do. You get a chance to drive the Huracan and Agera which was fun and really had me anticipating the chance to drive all the other cars set to be in Horizon 2. This time they not only let you but encourage you to drive off road and it feels like your are. They have the day night /cycle and rain in the demo which is done very well. I did a little free roam and it was pretty cool to drive around the corner of a mountainside road and find myself behind a LaFerrari. This game is going to be a great way to kill time until project cars comes out
I was hoping for a X360 demo but that didn't happen which questions the quality of the X360 version. I have read it's not a "ported" version of the X1 game, it will be a lot smaller map size. Maybe it's time to buy an Xbox One

I got the game and started playing yesterday. It's been a lot of fun and my collection is already growing One thing it seems like a lot of races are off road which is starting to get annoying. I won a C1 corvette and used it for a series. The entire series was off road which is a major PITA with the vette. I will say, with the right car, the off roading can be a lot of fun Do the races in each championship differ based on the type of car you are using? I've done the past couple with rally cars so that might be why it's mainly off road for me. I have enjoyed the game a lot so far and can't wait until I can have a huge Ferrari collection. Edit: Oh and there's an air strip. LOTS OF FUN. I can see how it would be more fun with a group of friends
Yeah it's a great game, lots of good improvements. The annoying Ben dude lets you pick which championship you want to do when you do the road trip to the next town. I just pick cars from the new category to keep it fresh.
I try to pick new cars but I don't like spending money this early since eventually it will be tougher to get money and I'm not sure how much I will have then. So save now, spend later. I think I have only bought 3 cars (F12, Lancia Delta Integrale, and LaFerrari). The LaFerrari is insanely fast. I drove on the really long stretch of highway through the two tunnels and got 72k in skill points. Highest I saw was 220 mph. Make sure to sign up for forza hub for monthly rewards. I am tier 4 (really upset about this since I spent a lot of time playing FM4,3,2 and horizon 1). It seemed to put weight on FM5 and FH2. I got 600k cr plus a huracan and a couple other cars. I know tier 5 gets a P1.

Gotta say... I'm really loving this game. Best racing game I've ever owned/played. Couple things that are extremely annoying to me: 1) Wish I could SELL unwanted cars from my garage rather than just remove them for $0.. particularly the crappy ones from wheel spin. and 2) Along same lines, wish I could sell/remove the barn finds from my garage also. And a feature I wish they could add... A dynamic garage view... Where I can arrange all my my cars at once and have a walk around / photo mode ability.... Just seeing them in the menu is too basic. Also wish they would import the Lotus F1 car and other prototype race cars from Forza Motorsport 5. And of course.... PORSCHE.... F that stupid exclusive they signed with EA... I'm sick of these RUF wannabes.
