The latest Hemmings Motor News has a C/4 offered at 395K. Is it possible that this is the new price level for these cars??

I believe the $395K car was a nut and bolt restoration. Never the less values have jumped more than 2 fold in a short time.

    That's a platinum level car.
Recent auctions and private sales indicate $240K- $270K for a good example. They've definitively appreciated, although in classic C/4 fashion I don't believe they have gone up equally in relation some to other vintage Ferraris.
Still a helluva value - I had one for 12 years.

Another listed in Hemmings $335K.....so, yes, this would seem to be the "new NEW" pricing.

Comparable engine to Daytona in the 2+2 fashion, lagging at 50% actually seems to make the "Clown Lips" seem undervalued

Hi Everyone, I'm looking at a Level 3 car (3 out of 4 with 1 being the best) now for purchase before this last Enzo era 2+2 goes out of the price range. It has some work to do on the suspension and some of the electronics needs work. The interior is ok and the paint isnt great. It's not a rat rod but an ok driver. Should I be paying over or under $200K for this? Your thoughts would be very much appreciated than you in advance.

There should be a bunch for sale all over with the recent jump in value.
Not sure if you can get one under $200k that will run though..
You are friends with Big Tom Yang right? I remember him mentioning you before...Tom had mentioned to me C/4 that could have been a good driver type car a month ago..
Also heard that Mario at Ideal Motor Cars just bought a nice driver too he might want to sell..
    Good luck..

I looked at one of these maybe 7 yrs ago that was a decent driver with alright paint for $65k. It seems they crept up slowly for a number of years after that but in the last few years they have really bolted upwards. Everybody has their 'one that got away' story but man it's bizarre to see it for yourself

I suppose it depends on what you wish to do with it. Complete mechanical refresh will cost $100k+.

Yep Jippie, spoke with'em about it...sounds like a very nice car. And you are right about "more cars available"...although NOT as many as one would think given the 2-3x price explosion last 4-8 months.

Joe Macari (UK/sp.?) has a white/blk (or tan, I forgot) 11k miles listed OVER $400K USD

Did you see the car on offer in Japan? Blue sera/black...perfect (just restored)...like yours!!
$535K !!!...guess I was conservative when I mentioned $475k for your newly restored gem.

....when the music stops my friend,

    Jack

If these are really for sale and might be sold somewhat close to those prices you had mentioned, then our insurance for our cars is very insufficient?
I think I'm insured for $250k...What about you?

yes, with Hagerty.....they are aware and if/when "corrects", we will all adjust. kinda like real estate taxes...we enjoyed when prop values went up...then the slow-turning wheel of "tax re-adjustment" caught-up and not so happy! Problem is with prop. taxes, local govrn DO NOT re-adjust downward with a simple phone-call. Now that house values have dropped, taxes have not...local townships LOVE to spend others money....ANY/ALL GOVERNMENTS DO.

But hell, if I had a 275gtb/4 6 carb tt I would GLADLY pay the insurance premium

    anybody want to sell me a Dino 308 gt4 ?? I am serious !

I have a simple question. Which car drives better? A 365 GT 2+2 or a 365 GTC/4? I heard that the C/4 drives better than the Daytona.

    hi Thomas,

They are chalk and cheese different. The 365GT 2+2 feels very much like a 1960's car, charming but dated. The C4 is very much like a product of the 70's, reminiscent of driving a 365GT4 2+2 or even a 400. I've lived with both and would prefer the earlier car, because its closer to a 330GTC, my favourite, and available for a fraction the price. I cannot afford a $1m GTC !!
