Hi There I have been offered a ferrari 365 in red registered in 1970 ,allegedly a prototype . The serial no. and engine no. are the same 13167. Is there anyway you can clarify if its a genuine vehicle Regards
I don't know why it's being referred to as a prototype, but it is one of only six such cars equipped with an automatic transmission by the factory (the others were 12755, 13165, 13169, 13171, and 13173) and is said to have been displayed by Ferrari at the 1970 International Auto Show, New York Coliseum. 13167 wore silver paint over a black interior at one point, but was repainted black in the early 1980s and remained so at least up until 2012, when it was spotted at the Cavallino Classic (see links below). It may have been repainted in red since, but that would be news to me. http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/voiture-de-sport-noire-classique-de-ferrari-avec-d-autres-33017439.jpg http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/voiture-de-sport-noire-classique-de-ferrari-33249250.jpg http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/avant-noir-classique-de-voiture-de-sport-de-ferrari-33017456.jpg http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/vue-arri%C3%A8re-noire-classique-de-voiture-de-sport-de-ferrari-33249254.jpg Do you have any photos of the car being offered?
While we're on this subject, can anyone confirm 13167 as the light-colored (white?) 365 GT shown here at the 1970 International Auto Show, New York Coliseum? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
we are also being offered 13167 in the uk, now red with different wheels and what looks like a rear fog light? Could the genuine car now be in the uk? it is still being offered as a prototype!
Apparently this is the car being offered for sale as s/n 13167, already the subject of a thread in the Vintage Ferrari Market subforum. Threads merged.
its being sold as chassis number 13167 and that its been repainted Red? sorry about the delay in replying!
To clarify, the car is not being advertised for sale on this site. It has been offered to at least two of the people who have posted in this thread and they are here seeking information about the car.
sorry, its not for sale on this site but is being offered as 13167 but I can not see how it can be that car? I attach 2 further images Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They feel like different cars - the black one has different wheels to the red and rear side marker lights This might have been changed but seems unlikely Can anyone identify the registration plate ? As suggested perhaps M Massini can advise further Might there be a clue in the FML ad referred here http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vintage-thru-365-gtc4-sponsored-vintage-driving-machines/53923-2-auto-queens-package-deal.html
thanks for the comment, to me they ARE different cars, and it also has that rear fog light that I've not seen on another 365 but the sales invoice says 13167 and the tags say the same, that's why I posted the picture with the number plate in the hope that would lead some where. I take the point about the FML ad but why twin the car? what would be the point of not keeping it with the original numbers? thanks for your help, I will dig deeper!
I think the fog light is a later addition and relates to recent road registration - probably in the territory of the current plate
can anyone give me any information on the whereabouts of chassis number 13169 in the hope it clarifies anything with 13167? thanks
That is a Dutch reg no,showing on the rear panel. On the front valence is an English reg...MAE 101 (french reg Nos end with a department area number)Car appears to be advertised in N.England
you say that on the front valence is an english reg....MAE 101, my picture's do not show the front of the car. have you also been show the car? thank you for your assistance, and the advice!!
Indy. Saw it on a dropbox. Read the plate, also dealers logo...'.Specialist Cars 'searching back,I also read that some months ago you could buy TWO examples for £100K. That is enough info for me. End of story.
