I've often wondered what they do to the inner side of the panels/bodywork. Is that taken back to bare metal as well and then rust/corrosion treated and protected?

Absolutely lovely color. I think your car will look fantastic in that light blue. It will be unique and won't get lost in the sea of red Ferrari's.

While I went to visit the 275- I was treated to something special. The owner of the paintshop was also restoring a 250 Europa one off Vignale bodied Ferrari. I know nothing about the car but please enjoy the pictures.....

0313EU. Was actually restored a couple of years ago and shown at Villa d'Este last year. Used to belong to F-Chatter Shaughnessy. More pics/discussion here.

I never imagined that repainting a classic ferrari was so complex (you know, if i scratch my c-class, i just take it to the paint shop and pick it up next day!!!), but its great to see how the proper job is done, and how much care and atention is given to every detail...i guess such a perfect model as yours 275 deserves a perfect job.
I've always been convinced that a Ferrari should be red but ever since becoming a menber of F-chat ive been changing my mind a bit, specialy because of classic cars and theyr original colours. I believe you made a good decision and that your car will be even more stunning in its original combo.
By the way Edmond, congratulations on your site, very well presented and very interesting articles.

Thank you for your compliments reg my blog. Its fun and soon I am going to add video content which should make it more enriching. Well I hopefully will only have to repaint my 275 once now and then have peace for the next twenty + years. I also was not aware of all the steps involved and all the time needed (almost three months). But to do it correctly takes time like with everything....

Edmond,

More and more I believe you've chosen the right color to re-paint your car. I bet that blue will look beautiful! I'm looking forward to the final result.

Yes well its the original colour. I actually bought this particular car because I knew the original color was unusual for a 275. So in a way perhaps I did chose the colour. Most are yellow (which looks stunning by the way) and grey and red. I thought this special light blue (with beige inside) will look great and is not so common. So lets see. Will keep you posted! regards to Brazil....

I think I've said this before, but my lasting image of a 275 is of a similar light blue one owned by one of the funniest men ever to walk our planet (even though as I look at it today it might have been grey, but it certainly looks blue in this picture):

I like Peters relaxed pose. And the big old Geneva license plate. Although the car was perhaps grey on this particular picture it does look light blue. Goodnight from Zurich, E

This is 275 GTB/4 s/n 09475, and I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that it was Celeste Metallizzato 106-A-16 (light metallic blue) at the time.

Well there you go, it was blue. Great to know!

Who owns the car now?

Sorry, but I don't know where it is now, but the most recent note that have is that was repainted bright red.
