I thought some of you would like this photo posted by Bellabarbas F-chat member on the Maserati page!

"At Forte dei Marmi in the early 1960's,...17 Maserati coupes and one Ferrari 250 PF"?

Can you read a number plate?

    Ciao!

There are two. Both in white. Why? Such a boring color...

White can look great. The only boring color for a sports car is the color red.

Maserati 3500GTs make the Ferrari 250 PF look much older and upright ... interesting

Particular the rear end of the PF is too long and the green house is to high at the rear pillars!

But the PF coupe is so much better than the Cabriolet with its far too high A-column!

    Ciao!

I also disagree on the white, I dig it.

It was very popular in the 60's for two reasons - it was often the woman determining the car color and especially does it saves a great deal in cabin summer heat (no A/C, and often no tinted windows either!). In the southern countries nearly every '60s and '70s car is a light color for that reason.
For light hues there wasn't much choice in those days, silver and white are very dominant, but then came the '70s which was a great time for light and bright colors on cars.

Hello 3500 GT, the number plate of Ferrari is Roma 338478, issued at January 1,1959 and the serial number is 1059 GT.
In the year 1963 the car was sold in Latina (near Rome).
    Ciao

Anyone have any other photos of 1059/GT or details of its current whereabouts. This car is not known to the PF Coupe Registry.

Bellabrabas would appear to be corrcet. I just checked my records :

1059 GT 23 Aug 1958 Body No. 22044 Destination Ferrari California.
Exterior paint color nero tyropicale IVI.
Interior vinyl & leather verde chiaro 3476.

    So indeed Black over Green.

    Darren.

The car Roma 338478 was built on last month of '58, and in fact his "Certificate of origin" is issued at December 4,1958.
The sale was made officialy on date December 15, 1958.
The plate Roma was registered at January 5, 1959 and the first registration was a real estate company in Rome at January 7.
After 3 months, by Vincenzo Malagò, official Ferrari dealer in Rome, then and now, the car was sold always in Rome.
On the February 1963, still by Malagò the car was sold at a men resident in Latina (near Rome) and in the same year (December) was recorded in Latina with a new plate.
    After this nice Ferrari disappeared.
Certainly the picture was make between 1959 and beginning of 1963.

Yes, my dear uncle Vincenzo! Married to my mother's sister. Great man, still going strong.

When I was a kid (early sixties), my cousin and I spent hours in his showroom, climbing into every car an enjoying the smells... That's all I really remember (I was 6), the smells!
